Is Open World PVP miserable?

This poll is mostly about random PVP that happens and not Elysium or private 1v1s. If you have bounty hunted or been hunted, then give me your experience and opinion about it.
Personally I don’t absolutely hate it, since for a few updates after release I did bounty hunt criminals a lot. But it was pretty boring seeing as most players would either not put up much of a fight or end up running away.

It’s only fun when I’m on one of my maxed files and bc of the content draught I’m never on my maxed files lately

I wanna do a second poll while I’m here…

Should PVE and PVP be separate? (As in, making it so that PVP players fight other PVP players rather than PVE players.)

If you voted Strongly Disagree or Disagree, why? I’m not trying to clown on anyone, I’m just curious.
If your reason is “Why not.” or “I find it fun.” I totally understand you! While I also find it fun to randomly sneak up on people and rip them to shreds with my weapons, I would much rather have an enjoyable fight with someone who actually knows what they’re doing and wants to fight.

Attacking people/being attacked spontaneously has a certain thrill to it that organized fighting just can’t provide. Plus I’m socially awkward so I always welcome the opportunity to skip the talking lol.
However if the person I’m attacking starts running away or states that they don’t want to fight then I’ll immediately stop and move on.

The open world PvP isn’t the problem

I’m neutral. My issue is when people don’t fight and start running after they start to fail a hunt, or don’t expect a get back and start running. I enjoy getting bounty hunted if I’m just running around so i have something to do. If I’m busy doing something like a chart, or i just spawn in, thats when it gets upsetting, plus runners i swear someone destroyed my boat and then ran after i got them one hit into the dark sea and logged

Honestly, I wouldn’t even mind it if people still used the old “hey, have you seen this person?” joke where they pull out your poster in front of you. Then you at least have a chance to get a hit off before the other person completely shreds your scrawny little glass cannon build with two attacks (happened to me on far too many occasions). Random ganking is the real problem, because with the damage that a minmaxed build can do, the fight is essentially over before you get a chance to join it.

Disagree because it takes away the risk and then ao just becomes singleplayer grund simulator

Ranking with some goons with you is so bad, though what’s funny is I usually ONLY survive the ganks which have multiple people jumping (probably they all have a skill issue) and when it’s 1 person they absolutely shred my hp before I can react

only problem i got is that the factions cant be pve’d through, so i have a lot of problems with PvP 'cause i cant be a navy captain

look bro i was once called the “grand navy guy” in the ao wiki and i take pride on that title even though a guy is already trying to become an embodiment of the navy here and there (atleast im gonna be myself tho)
being a captain is kinda dangerous you know, theres a big stretch between captain and vice captain making it very dangerous yet again

i really hope the ranks get reworked in some way to make leaderboard ranks become obtainable to the public rather than certain people in specific
