Sure, some people in the War Seas follow a religion of the gods, but where are the rest of them? If the water is constantly flowing into the hole, how did it not flood before Poseidon started caring about it?

as said during the Awakening, Posideon is “Dead” as in his body is dead. The spirit of a God will not die, and waits dormant forever unless something happens which leads to their body being reformed.

I guess we have no confirmed information regarding the Apollo’s identity, they could be just a human called after the god. The main reason after this theory is that Poseidon was frequently introduced as the God and Arthur’s friend, but Apollo was mentioned only as a master of some magic, just like other high ranking people in that army.
