Both of their islands so far have been on cold-climate islands.
Whitesummit is, well… Whitesummit.
Makrinaos is a taiga, and the headquarters is built inside a snow-capped mountain.
Is this enough to place them among Winterveil and Frosthelm?
I know it’s probably just because people don’t visit or inhabit cold islands much and they’re hard to explore and survive on so they make good hideouts, but I really really like to think everyone on the Red Council has a special interest in cold climates. If you bring it up they start passionately gushing about it for hours.
I mean, think about it. Why are hits on Frosthelm so rare? It’s because they respect fellow lovers of all things wintry and snowy.
Also they’re kinda self-conscious about it and INSIST that they’re not a snowy kingdom. They’re “not like the other kingdoms,” and it’s not a phase either mom.
And they toooootally didn’t just create the evil murder clan as a front for their DEFINITELY NOT EMBARRASSING cold-climate research expeditions.
Oh my gods. They listen to punk emo remixes of yuletide songs while they plan how to kill people. It’s real to me.
GUYS GUYS GUYS. THE DEAD HALLS ARE A PRISON TO KEEP ARCHITECT KALLISTE CONFINED TO HIS CAVES SO HE DOESN’T MELT ALL THE SNOW. BECAUSE THE RED COUNCIL WOULD CRY IF HE DID.
the Syndicate was never a kingdom of any kind.
The splash text that shows up when you enter the Red Corner (the Whitesummit hideout) states that it was the original hideout, meaning that is where the Syndicate was created and operated from untill they expanded.
They don’t.
Both criminal societies on Whitesummit and Makrinaos are just that, criminal societies.
They aren’t run by the Syndicate, they gathered there to do their illegal shit without the Navy or kingdoms getting in the way, the Syndicate having bases there is natural since the Navy and kingdoms won’t raid them there.
No?
Its an organization, nothing more.
They are literally everywhere, lurking and making contracts to assassinate high value targets.
