I’m not much of a story thing or know why vetex did it but like the effect says, it’ll affect our mental state
If we spared like elius but killed carina then why didn’t we just kill Elius in the first place
These are also not like the higher ranks of the order and adding to the story, they’ll die anyways I guess because the order does not give second chances
Its possible the choices we pick may give us different paths like how the villain/hero path worked in WoM

carina isn’t killed you just leave her to die (which means that she isn’t confirmed to be dead cause she could’ve got up)
from a moral standpoint him and carina are really the only directly evil bosses that can be spared
