But why be okay with clans being left out of the PvP toggle? You could just, you know, complain about it? Just like we’re doing about agility being gone?
Like i see why clas are being left out since they’re intrinsically competitive but it’s still stupid
Being in a clan does not mean i want to do clan stuff 24/7 why do i have to keep PvP on when i’m not claiming or contesting islands?
I haven’t seen many people talk about this, but even if it might be a good thing for agility to be removed (it’s debatable), the way it’ll return in is objectively bad for the game.
What normal player will be able to know that their precious agility jewels will be made worthless the moment that they get put in combat without using a wiki? It’s the same dilemma as with the change to swimming speed; It’ll once again screw over anyone who plays the game as intended (without using a wiki).
Besides the issue with wiki-gaming, conditional stat increases simply aren’t worthwhile. So what if you run faster? I can hit you with something, cancel your stat increase, and have an unconditional blocking power increase despite using the same source of stat changes (jewels).
Armor piercing is rarely ever used for a reason 눈_눈
While valid, this is only accessible after you craft a jewel with one such effect, an investment that you may regret upon discovering its workings or ineffectiveness. Though at the same, this applies to the entirety of the jewelling mechanic ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
Note:
No such changes were made to swimming speed jewels despite being made conditional.
Light Mage would cook with this, imagine 20 blast instantly stacking up light’s passive damage and blind on just the first few hits… While also homing so you can’t miss any.
Oh brother is this just gonna be another thread where everyone neglects the fact that it’ll be changed to out-of-combat gems meaning none of the arguments are actually meaningful?
The literal only criticisms for this change should follow the structure of:
“Here is why Agility needs to remain as an armor stat and not a gem stat”
Examples:
There are ways to use Agility in combat that don’t involve constantly backdashing, removing it as an armor stat would harm these playstyles
As a gem stat the upper limit of Agility stat will almost certainly be lower, meaning that traversal would still be harmed to some capacity
If anything at all this change is better at addressing the most common complaints because designating it as a gem stat means you don’t need to swap between Agility gear and combat gear when exploring islands.
No idea but it would probably be better to merge with climbing speed because nobody uses climbing speed; which is probably why you forgot to even mention it.
Would be cool to merge swim speed as well tho but that would mean putting urself in combat with sharks would delete ur swim speed.
It doesn’t work as a solution to Agility’s problems because that would imply that the people who cause problems with Agility are 1-1 with the people who would flip the PvP switch.
This is far from true. The strongest reason for removing Agility would be hunting; in which you can’t even flip the PvP switch to begin with at the levels of renown where it matters.
There are clips of high level LB players jumping into the air with gale potions and spamming spells to airstall while they swap to Agility gear. It’s absurd.
