Amazing example then
My only question now is more just generally how would Calvus even manage this with how much he tried to be good in? Aether is totally capable of some really fast feats but Calvus simply tried too hard to be good at everything he used
This is the only other real question I have left, because itās not like a lot of people can simply fly from island to island
Right thatās who I forgot about.
Knew the list was missing somebody.
We literally did not see Julian fly across an island, just him flying at us
Mf if he had inferno magic, heās nowhere near a normal person. Inferno magic would be stronger than literally everything weāve seen so far on its own.
(With the exception of the death curse but since morden is relatively new to it, itād be weaker)
He genuinely isnāt that fast lol, itās just because I assumed you had bad eyesight or smth
he was the distance of an island away from us and already moving fast as fuck implying that he was in the air for way longer
Yes but we also have a benchmark for how fast/far someone can already move already, flying Ravenna > Wind-Row is quite a flight
He was not the distance of an island away from us, he was still within Ravenna distance as well as the fact magic leaps are canonical spells that he couldāve used to simply gain height and crash into us.
Or even just fly up and then down into us
This is without any actual knowledge of his real power implied of course, if heās just built different then Damn, but right now the only other person weāve seen flying so far is still Julius
We donāt tho, Calvus might very well fly farther, we only see him fly in his room since heās obviously not going to run away
And ancient magics are literally build different.
Iād put an ancient magic user significantly higher than a mere base magic curse user (Julian)
The issue is Calvus is literally too all over the place with his skill, if he can fly then thatās cool, but he has no start-ups whatsoever to any of his flight, and I would imagine itās something only someone genuinely skilled would be able to do
Do note ancient magic users literally have to be insanely skilled to even be able to use a scroll while curse users just touch a cube and they get it regardless of their actual skill.
Ancient magics are built different, that is true
I donāt think heād need much startups when heās Aether magic(light speed) and not traveling very far.
He also travels in the exact same why light flight did in WoM
that was the distance of a normal island, ravenna is the second biggest thing in the bronze sea
dont exactly know if thats a requirement in lore because of this bitch fucking everything we know about scroll magics up
Thatās fair, but his skill level was still only enough to severely damage Neviro with a surprise attack, and then still lost to just some āspecialā dude despite how much stuff he tried learning, he essentially bottlenecked himself a ton
of course scrolls were never a requirement for any magic.
how would the scrolls have been written if people like Iris who just somehow stumbled into the method on their own didnāt exist?
sheās an anomaly
