Item stacking doesnt work

What I was doing:
I was grinding deckhand and wanted to upgrade my builder (I needed 15 repair hammers). I bought some from my clan shipwright and traded for some and I ended up with this:
(I also posted this in arcane oddities)

To remake this bug, get a bunch of the same item from different ways and they probably won’t stack up.
