Why do items not stack? It’s actually pissing me off because I traded for repair hammers and notebooks but it won’t stack so it just feels like I wasted my trade. Can’t even use the other stacks on my deckhands 
One stack is originally owned by you.
The other stack is public property of the government, and therefore, you do not own it.
WE own it.
Items with different original owners can’t stack. I vaguely recall a change where new notebooks and stuff have no original owners anymore, but old copies still do.

Actually, the owner doesn’t always matter. Some items seem to stack differently due to changes in the code. For example, I’ve had the exact same kind of fruit go into two different stacks.
I’d sacrifice Iris to have this fixed.
items now only come in 1 color variation, but i got a shit ton of old items so it takes up alot of slots
i think there should be a temporary option to make all items in your inventory the default color, would lower my inventory lag by alot

You can buy repair hammers from shipwright npcs and thatll allow you to stack as many repair hammers as you need. As for notebooks, yup those are very annoying cuz of stacking issues
Original owners should only apply to certain items.

because you got another stack of less than 15 thats currently prioritized, get rid of it
