I've noticed I'm feeling more dead in life with less to do..?

I noticed that right now, I spend a lot of time just not really playing games and browsing ChatGPT/AO Forums/Discord/googling random shit while listening to music playing on YouTube or watching random cat/Valorant videos. I feel like I’m “wasting” by not getting as much fun out of it as possible, such as by playing.

Now, I would hop on a game like IPS2, play like one round, then leave. I’d be bored easily but also want to play in a way at the same time. I’d be mindlessly playing some games as well such as Catalog Avatar Creator. Even though I can make OCs, where am I gonna publish stories about them? Do I have my Archenverse that I can easily upload content of?

Before back in like June, I use to play AO a lot. I used to hunt a lot. Now, I don’t. Although, it seems like I just moved on to Valorant but I also don’t play it obsessively/as much as my AO hunting prime.

This could all be because I’m spending more time working on my story (Flesh Armored Vanguards) and game (Magic Power Simulator), thus giving me less time to play.

Why the fuck did I even make this post? Is this an implicit message from me asking what I should do?

  • fuck off archen and delete this useless topic
  • nah you can keep this topic

i’ll edit this later with some thoughts

was about to go through a fit of laziness and just edit with “some thoughts” but might as well give my two and a half cents

for one thing, i wouldnt personally use chatgpt too much, a lot of its functions are more reliably performed elsewhere

but if life’s feeling dead, liven it up. try something new that sounds interesting and see if you want to continue doing it. me personally i like trying different artistic outputs (music, 3d design, sketching, etc) just to see what i like and what i don’t.

but if you’re generally low energy (ie burnt out), it’s okay to give yourself a break, but make sure not to stay out of it too long since starting again from a stopped point is more difficult then if you were still moving, just slowly

might add some other thoughts later

You’re burnt out. I had the same feeling multiple times on Roblox, I’d just look at the front page endlessly for a game to play and then I go back to games I’ve already enjoyed, play it for a bit, and then hop off to repeat. Taking a break or doing an alternate version like playing specifically with friends can help, but it’s very individual so what might work for one might not for another. I was kinda forced into my breaks too, went a year without a pc/internet, started doing volleyball which made my videogame time less, etc.

It is NOT the vault of you working on other projects, having less free time doesn’t make things you used to enjoy now boring, it just leaves you longing for more free time to enjoy those activities

Stop GOONING on ROBLOX so much and you’d feel better…

quit the forum, get outside more, be on your phone less, walk outside for 10 minutes every day when you wake up (which should be minimum before 10 o clock on non school days)

do you play sports? do you have any hobbies? Do you bake, fish, cook, play music, or do anything like it?

if you don’t have anything like that you should really really pick one up, especially if you have enough free time to get as burnt out as you are.

I’d say the biggest thing you can do is probably step away from the computer if using it doesn’t bring you any joy, you aren’t going to find anything interesting browsing games or social media when you’re already burned out, it’ll just make you feel more depressed.

Lift weights.

maybe try something new you’ve never done before, or something old you haven’t done in a while

If you find mindless recreational activities enjoyable, then I see no problem. Life is not a minmaxing game; there are ups and downs. Sometimes, you might feel stagnant, and it’s ok for it to be so, more people experience it than you’d expect. Don’t let the lack of direction drags you down.

The important thing is you’re aware of the situation and try to take control. Pick up something new, continue the trajectory, push your limits, etc.

Either I’m dumb or you’re just bored of the things you used to enjoy, you still have the same amount of free time. If the lack of direction is that bad, I suggest you start looking into dumb stuff you wouldn’t normally do. From personal experience, it worked pretty well for me.

I voted delete the topic for the meme but usually the advice I give for people asking for help on the internet is to leave for a while and try something new irl. Humans aren’t built to look at 2d rectangles all day, they need physical enrichment to function properly

Actions that aren’t physically or mentally tiring all while not providing any purpose are a waste of time, try and find something to do. You can read books (the kind that teaches you things), learn how to cook, clean up your living space, rearrange your furnitures, etc.
Not moving is like not living, if you stagnate, time will be seen as a waste.

(Fun is one of those purposes, but if you’re bored of things, then there there is no fun and therefore no purpose to be had in seemingly useless actions)

My advice:
If you’re completely burnt out on the things that you typically enjoy, just go start trying new things at random.
Throw stuff at the wall until something sticks, something WILL stick.

Archen kindly stop being exactly like me

All jokes aside, my advice would be to either find something new or return to something you haven’t done in a really long time. This will not only help you find something else to do in the meantime, but will also allow for things that would otherwise be abandoned to come back to life

If I had to suggest something specific if you’re looking for something new, chess is a fun hobby to get into if you can’t think of anything else (idk if you already play chess but just if I had to make a suggestion)

what if i set trees on fire :fire:

just release woven together soon pls

i love playing with friends so much it heavily offsets the burnout

i might do scrabble instead

i might get back to some games i used to play such as lumber tycoon 2 (why build in lt2 when i can build in roblox studio), build a boat for treasure (what should i build + same reason as lt2), bloxburg (where are the roleplayers), and scp 3008
