i dont know how to craft the gem w suitable reagent. may i hv the recipes or any other opinion from u? that wud help. thx 
you hold out the gem / reagent, at the jewelcrafting table, then insert it. you have to have 5 reagents and 1 gem.

if it’s xp you want then the most efficient is an exotic gem (morenci, agate, candelaria, etc) with a t2 reagent (thornflowers, coppershrooms, stormsalt, etc)
