i was fishing with mr kenton 
i probably had a chart in my inventory or smthn
meanwhile me at level 27? beating 2 level 90+ pirates at elm island cause some dude did a mythical chart there when i was fishing and i took the sealed they left behind (i died twice and swam all the way from frost mill back before my ship despawned)
these treasure chart pirates are menaces bro

lmfao i killed a lvl 15 ravenna ensign as a lvl 1 (their sailboat was near dawn island and their ui bugged)
It was probably a leftover from someone’s mythical chart, if nobody kills a pirate spawned from one of those they NEVER despawn
Crazy theory but maybe having NPCs that spawn en-masse and remain forever unless killed isn’t the best for the game’s performance either

The ideal way to handle mythic/lost charts is to just run away too lol.
Hear me out.
They should treat the pirate factions the same way tower enemy factions are treated.
Give 'em special drops and fancy loot for actually blowing them all up.
Some reward for clearing them all out.
