Just Tech doing some trolling

We still have one unknown role to fill, this is usually where the “comic relief” role comes in, but idk if that can fit in AO. Or if it will even be expressed well…

huh, looks like a knight of some kind.

maybe a skyhalian?

morden went mad with the death curse, killing Iris and greviously injured Neviro

comic relief: well, that just happened!

we absolutely need a comic relief character

and it would be awesome if it’s from a magical flying knight

im ngl but so far our party is absolute garbage and I need someone who I can actually find pleasure in being around :sob:

If that were the case then the hint is almost pointless cause we already knew the next companions would be in Nimbus and then we’re just left with a guy in armor with a sword which could literally be almost anyone. Tech might as well have just said we don’t get any hints if that were the case.

I mean aside from being a wanderer with nothing better to do he doesn’t really much in the way of qualifications. He hasn’t been relevant since the beginning of the game. Plus I’m betting that the next companion will be in Skyhall since at that point we’ll be in the third chapter of Nimbus and I’d imagine they aren’t gonna start introducing all 3 companions towards the end, and I doubt Shura is gonna be up there chilling in Nimbus.

I mean we’re going to meet a bunch of people we don’t know to ask for help so yeah most likely.

I want Shura to join the group. I don’t think Shura is going to be met in Skyhall (They’d execute him) . We know that there’s a spirit weapon user who’ll join our group. This next character who I assume will be met in Skyhall due to the wings and Tech posting it just after its revealed when we’re going to Skyhall might be the spirit weapon user but I think it might actually be the third character.

I personally think he does. Because he shares the 2 main qualities that all members of our group have and will be important for him to actually join and be part of the main cast.

  1. Currently has no affliation towards a group or anything to tend to before meeting MC. Sort of an outcast of society.

This is something we see with Iris, Morden, MC and Neviro. All of them didnt exactly have any prioties or affliation to a group at the time, making it easier for them to join.
Shura is the same, he’s a Ronin (basically a Wandering Samurai, has no ties to any place as far as Im aware)

  1. Is currently starting from zero with their skills, has potential for future growth.

We dont know much about Shura’s skills, but interestingly enough according to Tech or Vetex, he’s actually trying to learn to imbue when we frist met him. Thats why MC was able to “best” him because he was literally trying a new skill.

This caught my attention as it reminded me how Neviro, Iris and Morden were also the same, people just starting out, trying to find their powers.

Not only that, Shura hints he’ll be stronger next time, meaning his growth should match MC’s progression. And the notable characters that are supposed to grow alongside us are the people of our group.

The only things missing are the inciting incident that makes him join just like Morden, Iris and Neviro and ends up making him stay, and the thing that makes him “special” such as Iris’ anomalous powers and growth, Morden’s Curse and Neviro’s Curse Inheritance. Other than that, he’s literally a perfect fit.

Tech once slipped that more characters in our group will get Curses, and Shura might be one of those people if he joins. I mean, he’s a Samurai, green themed… remember how there was a Slash Curse that was once wielded by a swordsman that was lost in a war once? And that Slash should be green? Idk, food for thought?

“I’m going to be the world’s greatest swordsman! All I have left is my destiny! My name may be infamous…but it’s gonna shake the world!!! A crew with no respect and a captain that doesn’t demand it falls apart quickly.” - The new member

It isnt impossible that Shura is actually in another Sky Island somewhere nearby…

The thought of MC accidently crashing into his house there tho…

The thing I think is the biggest detractor from Shura joining the MC’s group is how, compared to the others, he just isn’t special.

Neviro’s the closest to being Shura’s equal, and even then he’s the last prince of a kingdom afflicted by a light case of genocide. Warren (if y’all consider him a part of the group) is more than likely the Inferno Curse user, Iris learned Flare Magic easily and likely has potential growth rivaling the Peacekeeper, and Morden has the same blood as the MC. Unless if expansion on Shura’s character reveals he could be special such as also being a demigod, he’d lag considerably behind everyone else.

The new companion will be Shura but not in the way you guys would think. The new companion will be a shape shifting curse user who decides to take the form of Shura’s likeness as well as many other prominent deceased characters, essentially stealing the powers of whoever they shapeshift into; their real identity is never revealed. The real Shura was killed around the time the MC was fighting Carina by an unknown threat whom will be revealed in the future.

(Vetex told it told it to me while I was smoking a blunt of weed)

Thats true, but note that we barely knew Shura at the time. We just ran into him and he left. He mentions that we’ll meet when thehre both much stronger, and I think it might only be by that second encounter we do learn of the thing that makes Shura ‘unique’.

The fact that he was starting from zero just like MC was and is supposed to actually grow stronger like us seems to indicate theres supposed to be growth to his character like the other members of the group ar supposed to.

Maybe the thing that makes him ‘special’ is supposed to be established later and that is when he joins are group. Thats why he didnt join earlier.

Neviro also quickly left the group when he realised he would simply lag behind.

They did have priorities though, which is what kinda made them join in the first place. Iris wanted to get back at Ravenna and hopefully find her dad, Neviro wanted to fight Ravenna cause the destroyed his kingdom, killed his family, and is trying to kill him too, and Morden is both friend’s with the mc(at least prior to their memory loss) and a former victim of the order. They had actual reasons to work with the mc aside from just not having anything better to do.

He’s honestly more similar to the characters from the dueling quests like Arish and Feremius in that regard. Without being given any info suggesting he has any relevance to the main conflict, it seems more likely that he’ll just be a guy we fight again in the future, with it just being a more friendly duel that time around. Wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up as one of the mini bosses in the future mentioned in the recent patch notes given his unique gear.

Without any hints that he has an interest in the main conflict, which even Neviro, who was the most mysterious, did when introduced had in his introduction since he was trying to help us, I can’t really consider Shura to be a “perfect fit” for a companion.

At the very least I know he’s not the next companion cause that hint doesn’t point towards him at all.

w h a t
brudda we are just going to be assembly a curse gang and i am all for it GIVE ME MY CURSE BUDDIES VETEX PLEASE

Just thought I’d mention this - that guy looks like a a GN member. I doubt they’re the next member.

i think someone said he had a GN logo on his cape once

yeah he does have the logo on his cape, I assume hes going to be like a commodore kai replacement in nimbus

Shura is revealed to be autistic

how does this affect the arcane odyssey timeline :face_with_monocle:

Its a marine character for the future

the “comic relief” could be the living equivalent of a punching bag that demonstrates our opponents strength by getting dunked on off-screen or as we enter a fight or some mf with absolute balls of steel rushing into a horde of enemies screaming LEEROY JENKINS!!! or some shit
