If legendary scales arenā€™t going to be self perpetuating then I want a new luck reagent, I donā€™t care how hard it is to get, I just want luck boost to stop being tied to this gameā€™s mind numbing terrible fishing that vetex seems completely unwilling to do anything to improve already.

If I canā€™t guarantee that I get something of value from spending 2253290 years mashing M1, I ainā€™t gonna bother, and I doubt Iā€™m the only one.

There are entire games that are genuinely fun that are literally just fishing as the core gameplay.
Thereā€™s nothing natural and unavoidable about AOā€™s fishing being terrible and mind numbing, its just vetex being stubborn and wanting it to be a ā€œrelaxingā€ mechanic while tying a bunch of incredibly high end stuff to it for no discernable reason.
(those games are also fairly relaxing, there is genuinely no excuse)

I tried reading it from your pov, I couldnā€™t really come up with a way to see it like that. The only real explanation I can see is unconscious cherry picking followed by some mental gymnastics caused by anger towards the changes?

no he haves a point, luck 4 aint gonna give u 20 leg fish scales and from what i saw from others neither them got a lot legendary fishing scales per aura, and the only way i manage to get more than 2 (using both 2 auras that i made) was to let go of every fish that wasnt a shark or squid

what testers seems to do is to mistaken a solo player using a QoL feature with massive groups of people using the same thing, the only way i can see luck 5 viable is for sealed chests and sunken (that in the next update is gonna be worth less, and eventually outclassed)

luck 4 is better used to fish, and just like 5, 4 isnt good for bosses, ya 5 might guarante a drop, and 4 might make it very easy to get, but mostly is just a waste, just use luck 3 for them

maybe is worth it if ur rick on DSE, i genuinely cant understand how do u test a game, and u end up making the worse changes or massive oversights, honestly im starting to think that the current testing team, atleast the majority ones, arent very good at their job

Lets be real with ourself rn, leg scales got really easy to obtain with massive fish addition. So its just a measure to keep it in check.

or maybe, and ik this might be a bit crazy, but listen up, make the chances a bit lower for legendary giant fishes, u know, farming bosses and fishing for them plus fishing for sunken its a task that most of the time, makes me to prefer to fight a agility user

fr just bc a group of people mass produces them shouldnt result in a wipe and coding extra lines just to prevent an actual intuitive game mechanic, that just terrible game design, so unpopular opinion, its fine, the average player wont abuse that, if anything the average player rn are minmaxers abusing casual players that are doing these stuff

luck v is pretty god damn strong, and with how easy it was to get legendary scales, i fore saw it getting a change of whatever kind. I didnā€™t really expect to see legendary scales above 10 getting erased though since there are players who put a lot of time into getting hundreds of legendary scales, iā€™d be mad as shit too if hours upon hours of fishing went down the drain. I think 20 wouldā€™ve been be a better number

Iā€™ll probably like never touch fishing seriously ever again simply because luck status was the only thing that made it bearable.

It wouldā€™ve been nice that instead of making it so luck status doesnā€™t increase chance to get legendary fish altogether. Luck IV shouldā€™ve been nerfed so you couldnā€™t reliably keep making surplus of legendary scales that way youā€™d lose more than you gain statistically. Also it would make it so you could try luck 3 fishing to turn ur golden scales into legendary scales, and the amount of legendary fish you get with luck 3 fishing is pretty dry so I think that is pretty fair.

I also donā€™t think ill touch luck IV. Not out of any real concrete logic but i donā€™t want to use a precious resource to potentially not get the thing i want. Even though Luck V is more expensive, itā€™ll increase my odds better, so iā€™ll use that when im desperate.

Iā€™m so using Luck III or II for boss drops or exotic scrolls.

ima be honest i expected more, but still, if is so bad then why dont just nerf it? that not a nerf, that gutting, what do they even expect, people happily going to farm for luck 4/5?

Luck potions caused too much stuff, sunkens farming got easier and with a day of grinding you can supply yourslef with a lot of leg scales, which will help you get better stuff from chestsā€¦Its a loop

i understand why they had to nerf luck potions, but this is going to make master angler hellish for people who want it since the focal point in grinding it was using luck 4 potions, since otherwise itā€™s extremely improbable to get a legendary fish. i already have it tho so not my problem :sunglasses:

I think the best compromise to this is to just remove legendary scales and make a new tier 2 luck reagent that isnā€™t tied to fishing.
