Could be purely cosmetical, but I think this would make wood magic way cooler, that on the end of a branch some leaves will sprout, which could just be very simplistic but would allow you to sprout a bush using magic, which is cool in my opinion. Could also be a lost magic in the form of Forest magic? Will post this to suggestions as soon as I can.

Cuz if you think of wood magic, you think of living trees and not dead ones.

well magic cant create life so living trees are out of the question

I can get behind abit of leaf particles.
Wood really needs something to make it sorta “pop” more imo and this change would be perfect.
also maybe make the branches on the explosion attacks more thin and wirelike so the leaves make more sense
