shadow magic is good for… uh… hollow knight larping, i guess? it’s statstick slop otherwise though.
light magic Is GOATED!!! I FUCKING LOVE LIGHT MAGIC!!! blinding people is totally fair and not at all cancerous to fight against, who cares if you only tickle the enemy when they’re dishing out 600+ damage to you? you can just… uh… dodge! parry! block! get good! light is SSS tier magic, needs no nerfs. also it’s good for niko oneshot or ultrakill angels larping.
Shadow could be one of the coolest elements ingame it’s just that basically all the visuals outside of fire look kind of ass lol
Conceptually it’s one of my favorites, solidified shadows can be really versatile in theory as it’s entirely theoretical matter with endless potential
shadow magic has the potential to be so fucking goated in theory. slip into your shadow, someone else’s shadow, hide in the shadows, turn someone’s own shadow against them.
hell even if we just force people to use solid shadows, they could still do some really funny things. cant see shit when the shadows from your hair slither over to your eyes and solidify.

such a shame that equinox is just both at once (not able to use them individually).
light/shadow is peak though, elliot just needs to lock the fuck in even more.
But if there are no shadows to give contrast… how would you ever know it’s bright?

Also in my own worldbuilding shadow and light magics don’t have any damaging capabilities, however they are very useful in terms of utility
Light magic, of course, can create a source of light to blind opponents, light up a dark area or send a signal.
Shadow magic is a tad complicated to explain, it basically converts light energy into elemental energy, so you can make an artificial night of sorts by creating a large enough disk of shadow magic. As light cannot pass it, the area underneath is cast into darkness.

the only reason i like light magic is because of a light-only guild in WoM that gave me free stuff and the magic generally being aura
shadow can politely go cry in a corner
