LIGHTNING WARLOCKS WOULD BE ABSOLUTELY JACKED
air has a lot of resistance, so the lightning magic would probably be mostly trying to counteract the resistance from the air
physical contact has almost no resistance (compared to air) so it would be extremely deadly at high voltages compared to lightning blasts alone
tl;dr: warlocks are better at lightning-magicking than lightning mages
what about my lightning conj? would it be powerful?
can the sword you use conduct electricity?
actually, scratch that question, physical contact alone is enough to deal lethal amounts of damage
I forgot that completely lol, I realised that last night and updated my discord post art it but realised my forum post wasn’t updated
essentially, the weapons act as a conductor so the user doesn’t have to expend their energy conducting it directly
id imagine mages would have to work INSANELY HARD to conduct their magic through the air, and that’s why they have secondary magics that help them, its a crutch.
Metal is a good conductor of electricity, and swords are made of metal, so yes.
Now imagine copper, the one of the best metallic electricity conductors
or even better, arcanium(-copper alloy)
which is also why lightning tends to strike tall objects
it has less resistance
