Lightning paralyse effect

What if lightning paralysed with a 100% chance every 50-60% of someones hp being dealt in multiple hits,not a single one.Right now its kinda useless having to do 33% of someones hp in a single hit so i suggest giving it a use/buffing it.Each hit you do with lightning gets counted up to the treshold until you do the needed % of his hp to paralyse him.The effect could last 2-3 seconds without any knockback or very little in which time a player can not move or cast spells.Thanks for reading!

The reason Paralyzing is locked behind 33% of HP worth of damage is because it’s inescapable. You can’t high jump out of it, you can’t cast a spell out of it, you have to wait until it’s completely finished.

And if we make it so you can get an effect like that in battle normally, it’d make Lightning overpowered. Getting rewarded by a powerful stun for spamming one magic/spell is not a good design.

How would you suggest making something out of it?

Also isnt the freeze/petrify status effect the same thing?You spam the magics to place the status effects and get rewarded.Also 2-3 seconds of paralyse is literally the same thing as if you were frozen or petrified.Just that you have to wait and not cast yourself out of it which is also worse as you dont have to throw away magic energy to cast a spell and break yourself out/excepting the charging variant that not all magics can do.Further getting paralysed for 2-3 seconds wont increase the damage on any magic unlike frozen that gets 90% bonus on gold etc etc

Freeze/petrify instantly applies when you hit both status effects and lightning has to deal 50-60% as to make it more even.Not that lightning already does pretty low damage

you can break out of frozen though (not sure of petrified), but not paralyzed

It ends up being literally the same thing as i explained.2 seconds of being paralysed is equal to being frozen/petrified and breaking out of it by casting a spell + it doesnt use magic energy to break out of it

Frozen is not the same thing, it reduces almost all incoming damage. The damage that it does increase, from gold for example, makes it break immediately.
On the other hand paralyzed just holds you down and I think you can’t break out prematurely even if you take damage, not sure though.
I’m not sure about how exactly petrified works either.

this would be a great argument if your statement was based in fact. paralyze lasts 4 seconds not 2, and because of the req for it there is also a chance to cause bleed, and you cannot do a single thing while you are paralyzed, giving the enemy free hits. meanwhile you can break out of frozen almost immediately

Thats why you wont see anybody use freeze combos with magics that are debuffed by it

Paralyse never happens in pvp

frozen and petrified dont either. ice by itself cant inflict frozen just its prerequisite, and petrified has the same req as paralyzed

sand and lightning be lit though.

Paralyze is more meant as an emphasis to a dangerous hit to reward building high damage with Lightning or to make defeating lower level enemies easier.

In any way it should not be common against enemies around your level.

I would have 25% chance for it effecting and stun for 1 sec and maybe increase and decrease depending on the overall damage taken by a lightning attack making it actually usefull

A power build would completely destroy any enemies with low health since it allows you to attack them after paralyzing (this makes them unable to attack and move because they’re stunned), but when it comes to fighting a enemy with high defense build, you stand a little to no chance. It all depends on how you fight to the enemy or how fast your FPS can shoot projectiles.

Its completly useless againsts players with average health wich makes it useless the current effect wich also mkes it useless in PvP

You guys also have to factor that Lightning is very well-rounded even without the paralyze status effect.

As you may know, Lightning Magic is a commonly-chosen, well-rounded magic that has a focus on speed and destruction. It clashes decently, clears many status effects, and can paralyze enemies, though at the cost of its overall magic damage. It synergizes best with Water and Sand. It also synergizes well with many other magics, such as Ink, Acid, Magma, and Plasma. Not all magics are this versatile, being great both by itself and in conjunction with other magics.

Tl;dr The current Paralyze status effect is fine as is and doesn’t need adjustments currently due to Lightning Magic being good enough.

Paralysis is completely different to the Frozen/Scribed/Petrified effects. Paralysis only activates when doing a specific amount of damage (or more), ragdolls, and is inescapable. The other three are escapable (through magic high jump and probably other methods), applied at any damage (as long as the status effects actually apply) and simply hold you in place, you are still able to act but just not move.
They are not the same.
