If you lose an arm you can’t use ANY weapons because “hur dur limb loss.” Can’t use dual swords, claws, or even the katana.
So basically, if you’re a warrior and get unlucky with a strong hit, you’ll just… lose the ability to play the game until you die or relog. You can’t use any weapons and you don’t have access to fighting styles or magic.
who thought this was a good idea. immersion this immersion that go immersion blend your balls.
they’re close enough to clans so i’ll say it’s a valid L
I think Magic Arms are gonna be a solution to this when they get released as lost spells but i think it’s kinda a dick move to only allow people who have a magic hybrid build to be able to bypass this
regardless of limb lost you should probably be able to use the other hand so i dunno why that wasn’t implemented
I heard Vetex was going to overhaul the injury system so this will either be resolved or become more of an issue. Right now, the only way to lose an arm is to take massive damage- and even then its pretty rare. While it would definitely suck if an NPC happened to take your arm from server lag, especially if they were low and needed one more swing, but if a player managed to do enough damage to take your arm I don’t think having that arm would have really helped.
I’d be able to relate to this if it weren’t for the fact that the attacks that WOULD normally remove my limbs are all reserved to multi-hit attacks that I can cancel now. Unless it is some extremely annoying metamancing metal mage build, those dudes are on par with David Silver I swear
As of now only Kai has made me lose a limb, as he is the only npc that has enough damage to do so. So unless your trying to fight kai, i dont see how you can lose a limb.
I mean, fair. It’s uncommon to actually lose a limb, but that doesn’t detract from how bad the mechanic itself is.
Even if it’s unlikely or rare to occur, it’s a death sentence for weapon based builds because unless you have access to magic, you literally cannot fight back until you die.
Does that make limb loss any better of a gameplay mechanic? That you can just reset and not be afflicted anymore?
Regardless of whether you think being forced to reset is an adequate response to suffering limb loss, it’s still a poor gameplay mechanic. Instead of adding depth or flavor to the game it’s just a tedious chore to deal with.
I didn’t realize that this mechanic was imported from AA until I realized I couldn’t fight Kai and I’m like, hmm, that’s weird, none of my abilities are working.
