They don’t want people cheesing the enemies, especially in the towers. That is their reason for adding this LoS change to all enemies
The problem with that is the destructible terrain and the literal movement behavior of the NPCs when they’re in combat combined with the jankiness of the LoS system makes for some of the most frustrating fights in all of AO. The best example of this is everyone’s favorite Ravenna Fortress, Fort Castrum. Enemies always get themselves stuck inside walls, and they even fall into the water, making for the greatest possibility of a softlock and forcing the fortress to reset which will erase any progress you made.
A. what about the cannon spell
B. i hope this is a heavily fixed version of that line of sight thing, the current one is kinda trash since if like 1 micron of terrain blocks your view it just doesnt hit
also yeah whats the point of applying it to every enemy cause its just gonna make skills/rites/spells that have the gimmick of going through walls useless
I already arrived at the 5 stage of grief by the time I finished reading the sentence so I had to point out something positive to prevent wallowing in this loss

truthnuke, fighting the current bosses that have it are miserable (valerii and commodore kai especially cause they just LOOVE getting stuck in a hole that they made themselves)
now imagine this with those high level enemy npcs (navy majors for example) constantly getting stuck inside a deep hole they made while spamming off cannon spells with pinpoint accuracy and you have no proper way of damaging them besides risking getting inside that hole and losing 80% of your hp cause they deal batshit insane damage
At least we get sensing? You won’t need a revealing potion for NPCs i guess.
I still hope LoS is reworked before being implemented so obtrusively. I just had to fight some stupid NPC who managed to have 600 Damage AOE skills that also put him into a hole. 5k Health btw, fun fight with a Juggernaut.
