Gameplay wise I’m pretty sure this would just be Shatter but less destructive.
Pretty much disassemble a magic, store it, and then expel it or modify it’s properties. For gameplay sake, let’s label Atomic as an ancient magic so it has fixed spells. Q is a spell for defensive/Semi-offensive purposes, it’ll take on attacks and break them apart, filling an “Atomic Energy” bar for the magic.
Attacking players or NPCs, using this one attacks, or even the environment while in combat can fill this.
While most of the spells don’t necessarily require Atomic Energy, they’re more powerful with it. The spells can take on the property of disassembled attacks, otherwise they are simply “neutral”. So let’s say your most recently absorbed attack was a phoenix blast from a player, your next attack will have this property, but subsequent attacks lose this. You cannot save this property, and it will be replaced on the next attack that is different.
Q: Atomic Disassembly
Breaks down the people, magic, or the environment. Primarily useful in filling your Atomic Energy bar, cannot completely break down ancient magics or weaken physical attacks, some lost magics, and lost/base magics in unique cases (high atk size).
E: Atomic Burst
Unleash a blast of raw energy. Can be used without Atomic Energy.
When charged with Atomic Energy, this attack becomes a beam taking on the properties of your most recently absorbed energy source (thermo would give burning, basic stays neutral, magics are self explanatory).
R: Molecular Cleave
You create an whip blade of raw energy, and you lash out with it towards your enemies. Enemies hit by the whip are immobilized, and you’ll burst towards them before slashing them with a highly concentrated slash of raw energy.
Uncharged this attack can also fill Atomic Energy, charging it will cause it to consume Atomic Energy if it is present to enhance the attack instead.

I don’t wanna make an entire kit for an ancient magic that probably won’t ever exist. The attacks power would scale proportionally to the amount of Atomic Energy used. The longer you charge, the more energy is consumed by the attack. Let’s say we have 200 points of atomic energy. This caps out at 50 points for each attack when fully charged. Q and R when used to absorb atomic energy will absorb 10 (base; up to 50 depending on attack) and 50 respectively.

ancient magics don’t have fixed spells, you just need to find a spell scroll for each one
So I need to find a scroll for an ancient blast?
and a separate one for an explosion?
they might not have base spells, it’d probably be like only being able to use pulsars and javelins

It’s all up to interpretation, there are ancient spell scrolls planned which I assumed would be what we would use for them. Although now that I think about it, I don’t see anywhere where it says fixed or un-customizable spells. So chances are it’s probably rare and a couple lost spells that we’ll be able to use.
Lost magics apparently won’t have access to every lost spell anyways, so this makes the most sense to me.
Vetex also technically has a custom magic which is technically an ancient magic (Shatter + Apoc Bringer combined) called Cataclysm but that’s custom so a probable exception.
if i remember correctly, this used to just say scroll instead of spell scroll, the new clarification i think confirms that it’s not fixed spells

God, as a massive copy ability enjoyer, I really hope a copy-focused Lost/Ancient Magic will just pop up.
Checked up and it was just miscommunication.
I thought it was lost spells as in Lost Spells and not the category/trello card.
So it’s pretty much just the ancient spells from this (assuming they are still planned later on). As a reminder, we’ll only have our lost magics on our 2nd and/or 3rd magic slots so that’ll inherently increase the reqs. As for whether or not Lost Magics increase said requirements further is unknown.
Although I’d be more concerned about this from a hybrids perspective since the reqs are obviously all a fixed value + some additional req from having a slot be 2nd or 3rd.
To reiterate, they meant Lost Spells as in the blanket term, which as I stated primarily means ancient spells here.

i hope we are able to put lost/ancient magics into our first slot because of that, it’d also make sense for our most skilled mind to be the best at learning a new magic
I think that the requirement is just a flat 600 for both second and third magic slots, but gets increased by 1000 for a second one (but this doesn’t matter much anyways since hybrids actually just can’t get a third magic)
Would make some sense except this would mean lost magics will start off at T1 blasts at the earliest you could get it.
