LiterallyLoki's advice/blog thread

Can I have life advice even though I haven’t read all 1000+ messages yet?

I was being hospitalized once and was in a room with nothing but a harry potter book and somehow i found myself more bored reading the book than just sitting doing nothing in this empty ass room

when

Antrum

vivarium

deadpool and wolverine if that’s still in theatres

You should watch ‘The Wild Robot’ if you haven’t.

Even if it’s just a ‘kid’s movie’, it’s absolute cinema trust me.

I believe it’s one of those “kids movies” that understand that children’s media is allowed to be high quality

The Hydrogen Peroxide in my ear didn’t work and now any liquid that goes in it gets stuck. My Sci-Fi teacher says I should probably go to Urgent Care, but the issue is that I live in the U.S. and apparently it’s $150 for just one visit, minus whatever gets done there. I’ve already axed $300 off of my older sister for a trip my school’s band is taking since I can’t find a job (I don’t care what she says, I WILL pay her back somehow), and I really, really don’t want to take more off of her. I could wait until Mom can make a doctor’s appointment, but that’ll probably only happen if this keeps up on Monday.

Also my ear is getting to the “oh please Old Yeller me now it hurts” phase. how do i make it stop making me want to bash my head into a fan please oh god

I think your ear is beyond advice the AO forums can give, from what I can tell you’ll have to wait until monday

Do painkillers help?

i read the book for it eons ago and i can confirm bro that was actually a great book

I have access to pain. I don’t have access to painkillers, though.

lay your head on the side the stuff is in with a towel under it
treat it like it’s filled with water from a pool or something

It probably made the wound that was in your ear(s) much worse. Remember, you were bleeding after trying to clean your ears ‘normally’, and hydrogen peroxide can be used in the same way that medical alcohol is.
also yet another reason as to why you shouldn’t follow advice from the internet as your condition may be different from the context that they believe in.

Honestly I expected it to be like 10x that maybe the stereotype makes things sound worse than it is

DEAR GOD

The issue is that this is for the visit alone, any further action from the doctor is paid for as well.
They check your tension? Additional fees. They check your heartbeat and respiration? Additional fees.

yall dont wanna let me sleep omg

so basically, an ER trip, regardless of price, is the good choice. Your sister loves you, she’s your family, she’s meant to. She can put aside the loss of money to care for you, her sibling.

If she doesn’t, well… she’s gotta get her priorities straight. Hospital, appointment, anything. There’s usually free clinics at hospitals if you’re in a major city or near one.

Hm yeah true

Issue is here it’s free but you have to wait like a year for an appointment it’s ridiculous
