Tried that.

Now I’m not sure if it just ain’t working, or if I now have earwax, peroxide, and water in my ear hole.

To me, no. If the creator is still kicking, I can’t. Kanye for example. I can’t listen to his music willingly after what he’s said and done. Lovejoy? I can see why some do, there are other band members that would get money from it.

I guess… do they still get money from it? That’s my deciding factor.

i do all the time

for example jk rowling is a pretty bad person but i love harry potter and i recent bought hogwarts legacy and played the shit out of it
if you get enjoyment out of art it doesnt matter who made it and there is nothing wrong with that

It’s up to you and your moral compass/values, though you shouldn’t judge people based on their beliefs but on their actions.

Oh I refuse to give money to JK because she’s a shit writer.

…Also charging 60+ USD for a wand I could make myself with a knife and a stick is insane.

Me being Jewish and Kanye being Kanye. :eye: :lips: :eye:

theres alot of things the books did way better than the movies

like in the movies aside from a couple examples all the fights are just generic magic beams and wisps, but in the books there are some incredibly creative spells that characters use which makes it overall way better… shes a literary giant for a reason i dont think shes a shit writer at all

Correction: she cannot write CHARACTERS. I read the books as a kid. I couldn’t care. Watched the movies, somehow cared less.

Something about the way she writes makes it very difficult for me to invest in her characters, and as someone who will tear up over almost every book and movie, that means she’s doing something wrong.

Or rather, the one character I really do feel for is Draco. And Snape. but the rest? they just become characters to me. Usually I can see deeper, but not with her. Idk.

what am i supposed to do about the growing dread towards becoming an adult and not having done enough as a child

do more things

Realize that everyone’s childhood is unique. Some live well, others are too busy, some struggle with things that make living itself a chore.

You can’t blame yourself for a rough childhood. And, if you feel you’ve not acted enough, adventure! Explore, live, do things you want to do (as long as no one is getting hurt, of course.)

Your life is a play, you write your own story. Make it a tragedy, a musical, a comedy, make it everything all at once.

Make it yours.

My birthday’s coming up soon, and I’m trying to decide if I wanna see a movie. I’m thinking of seeing The Brutalist, it’s exactly my type of movie. Also, Adrian Brody is a favorite actor of mine.

Any other good movie recs? (I forgot this is also a blog thread I can go to lmao)

dont watch movies a lot
(mandatory hermes reply)

Idk what the brutalist is

What is your kind of movie exactly

the simpsons movie 2007

Thank you, copycat. I’ll give you a bunch of good movies and shows sometime though!

I love movies that have a soul to them. Something you can tell had someone’s very being put into its creation. Things that don’t shy away from being real, don’t shy away from being not just a movie, but a film.

Some of the best movies I’ve watched (or rewatched) this month is DUNE (2021), Rise of the Planet of the Apes, French Dispatch.

I like movies that have their characters not just be built, but feel real. Also Wes Anderson is there because he’s just an amazing Director and I love his style of directing.

Fuck it, I may start doing my scoring and reviewing of movies again here… it’s a fun thing to do.

As a descendent from German immigrants to America, and being Jewish, the subject feels a bit more personal to me. Plus, Adrian Brody is good in everything he’s in, so I’m probably seeing it.

never heard of him but some of his movies seem interesting might check them out

Yeah.

Don’t watch Splice. Seriously, don’t. Not for any real reason than him regretting it, and the entire movie being the most 4/10 experience on Earth. I remember pausing it and watching Bob Ross 24/7 livestreams on twitch to cure the migraine it gave me.

I think it depends
