make it so that the crew members interact with one another and the ship while you’re docked (walking around the ship, using spyglasses, cleaning equipment, sorting stuff, admiring paintings, aquarium (brig), talking to one another [random dialogues that would have to be written by someone, quite some work])
while arming cannons, make them pose as they fire them (moving up to the cannons, loading in the cannonballs, igniting the cannons, bracing)
when a crew member dies, some of them would cry, some would stare in disbelief, some would be terrified of whatever killed them, hired deckhands would be less likely to cry or be terrified due to their higher experience (less likely as they level up and get more dedication, doesnt change anything obviously just cosmetic, could have a option to choose their personality; which would make their reactions different and per se - once someone dies a arrogant deckhand would laugh at their demise)
Not enough I want to send my pawns to fight for me
Besides we’ve seen bugs of fightable Deckhands that even used magic so I’m 99% sure Mr. Vetec Man just copied the criminal spawning formula and changed some stuff.
Trying to get NPCs not to fly off the boat when it starts moving, let alone pathfind when all of the waypoints generated by Roblox’s pathfinding instantly get left in the dust sounds like it would take demon level coding.
However, if that can be worked around this would add so much more life to player brigs and the otherwise lifeless crew, especially at the parts where story characters hitch a ride on your boat (such as when sailing to sameria)
i mean, they would only really move around while the ship is idle, as it moves they’d stay rigged as usual, maybe sit down on some chairs they could pull out/sit on the birds nest/hang onto the brigs ropes/lean againts a wall or cannon or hold onto a cannon
as for pathfinding well you could just make presets where they can move and where they cant, randomness would be cool but thats way too much effort for QoL, preset paths to preset destinations and thats about it, just something to make the game feel more alive
