So yeah, I found a new Roblox-based MMORPG kind of thing, so if you didn’t like Voxlblade or lost interest in it, give this a shot: Realm of Ruin
It’s kinda fun, but its design is an issue, as it’s built around players fighting each other for the primary form of EXP gain, when at best there’s 6-11 players online. You can gain EXP from harvesting plants and selling items which are considered “desired items” to merchants, but that exp gain is minimal.
The spell system however? That’s where the fun begins. There are FOUR spell trees you can choose from, with one gimmick: Each tree opposes another, so if you chose, let’s say Creation, you CANNOT learn a single spell component from Destruction, but you can learn half of the spells from either Chaos or Order. Each spell tree has some form of an element, and usually a modifier, to add to your spells. There’s also the universal tree which grants you spell cores, ranging from projectiles, to rings, or even self-usage. Spells are created through combining cores with components you’ve learned, and you can name them as you desire.
There’s way more I don’t feel like typing about, but maybe give this a shot, it’s kinda fun.
that spell system sounds a lot like the power system of hunter x hunter where your nen type affects your affinity towards learning different nen abilities
One of the early problems for me is trying to get the text when hovering over items. It’s buggy and annoying. JUST REALISED IT’S BETTER IN THE GAME IT’S BUGGY IN THE TUTORIAL.
Problem 2: The game’s tutorial is kinda lacking. It doesn’t tell you how to cast spells or even make them. It doesn’t tell you about “burnout”. I think burnout is stamina???

I tried it out, it’s pretty ok but kinda slow for my liking.
I’m on board with it’s spell forge, I’ve never seen anything like it. However, the game’s leveling system is ass. Only good way of getting exp is through player kills? That needs some revision ASAP.
Bc this game has 0 players, I brought my alt with the intent of farming it since killing people was the main way to get exp.
After searching for my alt for ages and setting it’s spawn point right beside me, I started farming. But the exp gain was slow and minimal, couldn’t even fill a 5th of my exp gauge. The exp decreased after each kill too, probably to discourage targeting the same person over and over.
I’m aware it’s just a beta and i’m sure the game will improve, but imo it needs work. I’ll keep it on my radar though.
Yeah, that’s the one issue I see with it, besides the tutorial being shit.
The EXP gain does not work with the level design. I FINALLY got to level 2, and that was barely worth the time. Got to increase ONE STAT by 5 points (From HP, MP, and Burnout), and only one point for spells.
It’s absolutely got potential, and that spell forge system is godlike, but it needs work. Badly. This isn’t a Land of The Rising Sun where there’s a consistent 15-40 players all the time, or a Blood Samurai 2, where it’s fucking LOADED with thousands of players, so the PvP EXP gain focus is a bad idea.
