Looking for music feedback - Proseka NEXT

Hey guys! It’s me, some guy on the internet looking for opinions. Whether you know music or not I’m looking for opinions on a song I’m working on. I want to participate in the 36th Proseka NEXT (every 3 doesn’t have a theme, so better late than neveer), so any opinions are welcome.

There aren’t too many requirements, however it does need to be sung by Miku, Rin, Len, KAITO, MEIKO, or Luka (No language requirements)

If you are curious on the requirements in more depth, https://www.sekaipedia.org/wiki/Proseka_NEXT, otherwise, here is what I have so far

I might change up some of the instruments in a different program (Currently working in BandLab, but I also have Cubase15)

0:00-0:48: At roughly 15 seconds in, I would add a guitar (probably acoustic) and possibly a 2nd layer of drums (probably bass drums). I don’t know the theme of your song but the gradual incorporation of natural sounds like birds chirping or even just wind blowing in the background will heavily increase the song quality. You can edit it in using Da Vinci Resolve or any editing software like it :+1:

0:48-1:20: Honestly pretty solid, I’d go for a higher pitched guitar/any other instrument in this bit to really get the tone of a chorus. The environmental sounds could tone down here to make more space for instruments.

1:20-1:46: The environmental sounds can pick up here, while also lowering the pitch of the guitar as well as the tempo of it to be once every two beats instead of every beat.

Just a note that I only use FL Studio, so I don’t know the limitations/additional benefits of other softwares.

Make sure not to make it too cluttered so that there’s space for singing, though!! Never used a voice bank myself, so can’t give advice there.

Is good so far :+1: just keep in mind I am a bit biased towards faster music as can be seen on my thread so only take the pieces of advice you deem to be worthwhile

Midi guitar is a bit hard to use, but I can try to figure something out (BandLab is honestly pretty limiting, but it’s great for setting up since I haven’t learned cubase much).

I might try the wind idea (the song doesn’t really have a theme other than loving music for being music), since then I can sort of give it an outside feel. I just have to be careful as human voices are a no go.

Cubase is (Probably) similar to FL in a lot of ways, I just got Cubase for free for buying a voice bank but I don’t use it much when making the song (the instruments and mixing stuff is nice tho).

Lol, I can’t ever seem to go below 150 BPM most the time, I’m suprised I’m managing to stay at 120 BPM. I’ll have to see some of your other stuff I am interested lol. Thank you for the tips and specific timestamps too

You nerds/j

Progress Update. Thinking the ending lyrics could be something like “It’s sad this song has to end”

Update, Haven’t been able to make lyrics so I might try to make a whole other song, not sure (I have an idea but it requires knowledge that I don’t have)

Loved the random melody but I can’t get it to work. Back to lyrics I guess (would send but it doesn’t want to)
