you could give her opposites/parallels to your character, so something like balance or shatter, aether lightning, life, and idk for poison, wood acid earth or wind probably

(i kinda just threw his lore together one day when i was bored so its kinda meh but i like it so)
Magnus was a magicless scientist who studied magic and its properties for fun. He passed in a fatal magic-related accident and was semi revived due to the magic energy lingering in the seas. Once he was revived, he was suddenly able to use glass magic due to him mainly working with glass (stuff like potions and bottles to store magic stuff in).

before he passed, he decided to visit the dark sea since he’s only heard stories about it and thought it was a great opportunity to learn more about his research. while gathering some dark sea reagents, he found the staff and felt some sort of weird energy from it and decided to keep it. he’s currently not trying to research what energy the staff is giving off but he considers it sometimes.
