second time round and im struggling so much because i cant see the guy through all of the special effects, is this intended or not?
first time i had no trouble so maybe its just a skill issue
if you die during the second phase the lightning effects don’t go away, it’s a glitch

Elius is the worst boss in this game imo, you’re not lacking skill he’s just really dumb.
Why does he heal.
Why does he teleport to a new pillar each second.
Why is he so hard to punish.
Why are the particles so thick in phase 2.

Yeah, once you get the patterns down, he isn’t too bad. He just screws with you a lot. Especially his teleport, that thing’s just dirty.
Now uh, how badly would you freak out if I told you that there may or may not be someone worse down the line?
If you fail at elius don’t worry you’re not bad at the game

nah man calvus is actually fair, there’s a lot of ways to speed-kill him, and he’s nowhere near as janky as elius.
Eh, fair enough, but sure as heck takes longer to learn to beat him.

Ravenna shield
Honestly, yeah, shields are possibly the single greatest resource for bosses in this game. Note though, that non-weapon users cannot use them.
… which is why I will dread fighting the guy on my second Warlock profile.

My warlock file uses one to fight calvus
Warlock here, I beat him with the help of two other people. Never use your fighting style on him aside from the occasional Shot, punish his slam and his long-charge spells with 20% size 20-blasts (though maybe that only worked for me because I use Light so I’m fast enough to get them all off before he fires, you could adjust it accordingly to your magic)
I typically try to solo bosses as much as I can. Thanks for the advice, though.
acting like elius at level 50 is harder than calvus at level 100 is goofy as fuck
elius is easier than carina tbh, hardest part about elius is seeing him through the particles

Carina’s kinda a low bar for difficulty, she’s basically Iris, but with a strength build and a lot more HP.
this is the part where I know you’re baiting me
you shouldnt be able to block with shields if your build doesnt use weapons
i mean, the block animation should be obvious, so im assuming it you arent lying and its just bugged for you or something
carina has undodgable attacks, carina is harder to punish, carina has more consistent healing
neither are hard in the slightest but carina is harder than elius for sure
