Yeah, I’m surprised he never responded to my slander in the Arcane Agenda thread. Not that I am genuinely trying to troll him specifically, it’s more of a natural consequence of my detestation of Morock, which originated with his constant posting about the so-called Hound of God.

methinks its probably just the handwaving that the veiling storms got, curse shenanigans.. also i still cannot get over the fact that main character was able to defeat a curse user. i DO NOT GIVE A SHIT that ormolu was depowered or whatever handwavy excuse it was, a curse is a curse, yknow mister undying infinite well of ultimate magic power?? like do i not get it or what
A curse user’s power depends heavily on the user’s original power and their potential, so it was likely that there’d be a curse user somewhere that was weak enough for us to defeat. I’d say a curse only multiplies the user’s potential by like 1.5x. For example cursebeard was already considered the most powerful mage of his time, he only became like 2x ( and I’d say 2x is on the high end of guesses) as powerful after becoming a supercurse user made of 4 whole curses. Also curses are not infinite wells of energy, otherwise the energy curse would be useless
well not like infinite infinite, but i seriously thought that curses were such an unbelievable gap in power compared to mages, and since vetex loved to say our main character is on the bottom of the food chain it just doesnt add up to me. even if they didnt have “potential” or was crazy or WHATEVERRR, that should still be a way stronger hurdle of a boss

Canonically there doesn’t seem to be anything stopping magic being used to form more complex living things
Like there already is wood magic (a living thing) so there shouldn’t be anything to stop a mutation like uh, bug magic or some shit from existing

Since wood magic is not a spirit mutation I doubt it could create living things, probably just dead wood, like logs and stuff. Not sure how plant magic would work in that regard, either it’s a spirit mutation or it essentially creates dead matter that just looks and behaves like it’s alive for the duration you use it. In the same vein I do think locust magic isn’t out of the question if the locusts act as essentially one object and share the exact same goal with little to no capacity for thought. For more individual locusts you’d probably have to summon a bunch of tiny elementals. Could be a fun magic though, imagine poison but the clouds follow you
have you guys ever wondered why the war seas have been raining so much more lately? well i think i just figured out why
we all know vetex is a mage, and loves lightning magic (even made his MC use it), i believe this is the reason why there is so much rain now
vetex doesn’t want his mc to be doing LAME tasks like fishing or trading for sunkens or brewing potions, so his only way to bring out the full potential of silas’ magic is to flood the entire bronze seas so that everyone is soaked 24/7, thus letting silas paralyze them

Another reason is that storms are glooby and never groovy so they help convey the deep inner sorrow and angst of vetex’s worldbuilding
