LoserNamedMidnight music thread where I mostly yap about music and sometimes post cool bass covers

this is gonna be my second thread where I post cool music stuff I make

but as the title suggests I will mostly yap about music I like.

I’m into prog rock, prog metal, art rock- whatever just take my stats for spotify genre list

if you know none of these genres then uhhh what are you doing here lol

I don’t know none of these genres

This is my equipment, I got a Fender Squier precision bass and a Rumble 15 amp. It’s kinda simple really, it only got EQ settingd on it but at least it doesn’t bother the neighbors

I should make a full cover including this special part that I made up for this song, I recorded a few TOOL covers in the past but they sound horrible and I don’t want to have to look at them

wait how do you check your spotify genre list

there’s multiple sites where you can get stats for your spotify account but this one is the best imo because a lot of the others are paid services

I’m starting to get into Dream Theater. So far I decided to listen to Images and Words (GREAT album). I said somewhere on these forums before that I didn’t really like James LaBrie’s voice. I’D LIKE TO TAKE THAT BACK :sob:

But after that two other songs off of Six degrees of Inner Turbulence caught my… Ear???

Also I wanted to try and play Pull me Under, but...

yeah

I sense a potential new favorite band in Dream Theater. They got a LOT of music but I wanna take time to consume it carefully. I really like everything I heard so far tho :fire:

Also I found this other band called Oceansize and they make really great stuff too. This thread is kind of a void for me to scream into but if people actually read this please check them out

this is peak i fear  if you accept reccs ive got a song you might like to play …

Sure, I’d love to actually interact with people on here as well

Just please don’t be Seven Nation Army…

Noo!! Dw! It’s not a very “recognized” song (kind of ?) so I wouldn’t be surprised if you hadn’t heard of it. If you want to skip through it, go to 1:14, so worth it

also yes it’s the guy that made christmas kids and i can’t handle change, i hate that he’s only known for that sigh sigh

Ah yes, unrecognized music! :face_savoring_food:

jokes aside I don’t really wanna shit on music in this thread, this is a thread to love music. I listened to the whole song, it was rather short (it was almost 3 minutes long, which is very short by my standards I guess)

it got some nice instrumentation and sounds going on but the bassline doesn’t seem to be very present or interesting to play, I could maybe try breaking it down into notes and adding some more stuff to it sometime later this month once I’m done with my finals

Just kidding, I got it pretty good this year. I theoretically already passed this year. It doesn’t really matter what grade I get because even the lowest grades with the highest weight won’t be able to bring my grades down enough to fail this year

I got a friend that plays guitar and her brother plays drums. They got a drumkit at home and I came over with my amp a few times and we had a few jam sessions. We wanted to play more when summer starts. She loves Deftones. If anyone knows any good Deftones songs to cover lmk

haven’t met anybody on here outside of , my boyfriend and oomf on twitter that listens to roar, lol .

Admittedly I only knew Roar because of that I can’t handle change song too lol. I’m not even particularly into it, it’s just very popular. I don’t think I know the other one though.

I don’t really have any artists that I really like that are only really known for one thing, but I can imagine it sucks. I can’t really find people who are into my kind of music from my age group (I’m 16, and most people who like prog are well over 30). But if you genuinely want more fan interactions, I suggest going to stuff like concerts or festivals for the genre of music that you like, it’s pretty nice to be surrounded by people who like the same stuff as you

I went to see Steven Wilson play in Amsterdam last month and the show was awesome. I don’t think I ever saw that many people with prog band shirts that I recognized in one place, and it was kinda cool to see what kind of people like the same stuff as me.

God forbid my autistic ass starts a random conversation with a stranger though :sob:
