Vetex said himself that all experienced fighters who use fighting styles utilize magic energy in their attacks so that’s wild. Please change your rating.

Yeah that is one of the two main inspirations! I always thought nen was really cool as a power system though this idea isn’t too similar to it except for achieving the effects of a few applications of nen. As for hatsu this style would sort of be half emission and half enhancement.

I dunno. It’s well made, sure, but this doesn’t seem “cool”, if that makes any sense? I mean “releasing puddles/clouds of raw magic energy” doesn’t exactly scream SATISFYING GIMMICK to me, and the way this games combat system works it probably won’t really be much of a gimmick anyway. This is like Thermo Fist if it were less cool and increased your size instead of speed.

On that note, would the aura always be white or would there be ways to change aura color? And I prefer the effects weren’t puddles or “gas clouds” but more so smoke- if the FS is based off of nen, a smokey effect would be more accurate and probably look cooler.

Read the vfx/sfx section again. Also fair enough, not everyone has the same tastes! Reasonability is more a rating on how reasonable it is to add to the game and how well it fits in I think but oh well.

This style starts out exceptionally weak and requires the user to use their hazards to become much stronger for a while and keep from using too much energy. I’d say it’s reasonably distinct from thermo and sailor and is very good for people that like to play a support buffer role! Also player auras are already a thin gas/smoke of sorts so it makes sense for it to become a more dense form of matter when condensing.

Oh right, with the new savant awakening I don’t have to say second awakening for savants on that vfx change! Also oof, sich a high rating yet only 4 votes.

I say it has similarities to thermo fist because it still gets stronger as the fight goes on. The puddles/gas thing isn’t a very difficult gimmick to take advantage of, afterall.

Still more than distinct enough to have a right to exist. There can be more than one style that can improve its own stats in the game by using it a certain way. I agree that there are some similarities but they would not play the same at all.

@everyone Still don’t know if that @ works but anyways I made a new poll to see which of the most popular names that were picked people like the most!

What’s your favorite name for this fighting style from the most popular name choices in the original poll?
  • Aura Manifesting
  • Aura Overflow
  • Condensation Style
  • Compression Fist
  • Overflow Fist

@everyone Both the names poll and stat spread poll have been removed and the stat spread has been updated and I clarified/changed how I vaguely describe stats in the itallicized text below the stats!

Depends. I’m assuming that every attack releases some sort of energy rejuvenating cloud/puddle, and with that in mind it’d make sense for certain moves to instantly gain a buff once used (Specifically crash). ← Correct me if I’m wrong

Also, would it be possible to chain buff by attacking intervals- 10s of attack, then reset with a smash attack or any kind of low endlag skill and instantly stack the buff?

The buff never stacks under any circumstances, that’s listed in the mechanics section. If a puddle isn’t big enough (it’d have to be massive to achieve this mind you) then you won’t get the full effect of the buff from this style and will need to absorb another puddle (and you won’t be on cooldown for puddles until you reach the maximum which is also already explained).

You’re right about some moves instantly gaining the buff because they move the player to the location where the clouds and puddles appear which is intended behavior. Make sure you read all the parts pertaining to aura puddles closely as I think you can find all the answers you’re looking for there. Also before you ask, multi-hit attacks won’t create multiple hazards, that’s explicitly mentioned as well.

To directly reply to this part, I’m not even sure what you mean here as it doesn’t make sense with how I understand the style to work. Like I said, the buff never stacks, it only increases to the maximum effect. The 10 second cooldown exists to prevent players from having the buff active at all times, though you could increase the buff a little bit at a time to extend the time you are buffed for a little while since absorbing a new puddle replenishes the buff’s duration so long as you don’t fully buff yourself, though inevitably you will end up doing so.

This got pushed up a bit so some people that don’t look through all the messages may miss it, but again there’s a new poll here to finalize the new name for the style!

Seems interesting, I think the energy cost related things are going to be a bit unimportant considering the hunger/energy rework. I’m not sure how it would work when playing though - is the intended play style to occasionally go back to previous attack locations to get a buff? Where do the puddles/clouds appear - where the attack starts? ends? What determines whether a cloud or puddle appears?

Well the energy restoring effect is good for ensuring you don’t run out of energy in really long fights like some tough bosses or clan PVP and yes the intended playstyle is to go to the hazards the style leaves behind to restore energy and buff up. As for the behavior on when and where hazards appear I have no idea as I didn’t program that part of the game. That’s not really something that needs to be detailed in the style itself. Still appreciate the vote!

Now with the energy changes how about an energy bar?
ould be a lot more intresting.

I haven’t the foggiest clue what you mean by that.

I’m just going to assume that Wingler meant a meter, similar to the one Sailor Style and Thermo Fist have. Although, which one it would function as, Sailor Style’s backward meter, or Thermo Fist’s forward meter, I have no idea.
