Some lost spells ideas that would be really cool and suit the other lost spells.

Wave

A scroll containing instructions on how to use the Lost Spell called Wave. The spell description reads: “Wave - Conjure a force of nature made out of your magic and send it forward, crushing everything in it’s way.”

Settings would change it’s horizontal and vertical size but vertical size would be capped to a maximum of 1 T-jump of height with 0 agility, waves would have a disjointed hitbox towards the back of them. Gets bigger and more powerful if used in water.

Main purpose of this spell is to force opponents into the air where they have way less mobility.

Tendril

A scroll containing instructions on how to use the Lost Spell called Tendril. The spell description reads: “Tendril - Erect giant tendrils of monsters created of your energy to slam on the opposition”


Settings would change the amount of times tendril slams down. Another setting would be toggleable auto aim, which massively decreases damage but causes the tendril to auto aim after being created.

How would this work is you would place a magic circle where the tendril will rise from, then it will slam down on your current mouse location.

Terrain

A scroll containing instructions on how to use the Lost Spell called Terrain. The spell description reads: “Terrain - Apply your magic energy to the ground all around, changing everything in it”

While standing on the ground changed by the terrain party members will get a buff, that depends on the magic, and enemies will get a debuff, chosen by the mage.
Buffs would be, for example, acid giving a 10% boost to armor piercing and so on.
Debuffs would be as a setting similar to the aura buffs, and would be more simpler changes like a 25% speed drop or 10% more damage taken.
All these effects will only apply while standing in the terrain.

Good ideas for spells but few questions when you call them lost spells do you mean lost spells as in lots spells or rare spells cause there is a difference also is the tendril spell base on Captain Maria and is the terrain spell based on zone spell that was said to be a possibility a while back

vetex said once that rare spells are just more complex spells, lost spells are even more complex and ancient spells are even more complex than lost, zone and terrain are similar but different enough

the first two would probably work more as an blast/explosion shape. the last one could work better under the aura spell

I like all of these ideas. They all sound pretty fun and unique enough to be a lost spell… except for tendril.

Tendril is okay in it’s current form, acting as long strip of grounded area denial. It’s okay, but a bit boring for a lost spell (The mechanics is about as simple as a rare spell, but the visuals would be akin to a lost spell). If you could change the way the tendril acted after casting it, such as making it spin around or do something funny, then it would be more interesting.

Alternatively, it could instead work as an anti-air grab spell, where it grows/stretches and auto aims towards airborne nearby targets, automatically draining more mana from the caster while it attempts to catch someone.

I actually don’t like the idea of certain magics having a single effect for a spell (e.g. only one buff from aura being viable depending on your magic).

could change this to a 3dimensional cylinder so that air-stallers also get mine-fielded
