Magic evolution/Mixture

Maybe as an option at third awakening or something, but you basically get the ability to mix 2 magics together to produce a third magic which would make both magics stronger, for example shadow and fire would produce dark fire, which can be DOT or draining energy each burn proc, would also turn the fire black and enhance both magics making it stronger, another one can be sand and earth which would create mud, can create a new status effect “Muddy” or “Sluggish” that slows you down, either your attacks or walkspeed

Magic “Mixtures” don’t need to apply for all magics, as in some magics cant work together, for example base magics with lost or ancient magics shouldn’t work or synergize together, or opposing magics like light and shadow or fire and water, it would basically just be a further upgrade to certain magic combinations, seen another art post talking about this and it also had cool mixtures like light + glass = rainbow.

This would be really hard to implement I believe but it’d also give an incentive to go another basic magic instead of just saving up a slot to find a lost or ancient magic as it balances out and creates another layer of status effects.

this is just lost/ancient magics with extra steps while being less inclusive and more restrictive since it’d require you to have specific magics for each one, especially since some combos wouldn’t even work according to you

I agree with the more restrictive, but that’s the tradeoff for wanting a third magic that complements your build instead of finding a lost or ancient magic, which is probably very high level + extremely rare, + magic mixing would make lost and ancient magics way more unique since the basic combinations are already taken up, I don’t know if vetex is making lost and ancient magics just combinations of current magics, if thats it then this suggestion doesn’t matter does it

blizzard - ice, snow, wind

mud (formerly) - water, earth

equinox - light, shadow

aether (kinda) - light, explosion

frostmetal - ice, metal

lunar (possibly) - water, light

your suggestion is just the lost/ancient magic system but worse

This would take such a downright insane amount of coding and would likely be incredibly unfair, not to mention this infringes on Lost and Ancient magics.

I meant that something like this is already planned, aka lost and ancient magic, not the idea directly

I get where you’re going and I like the idea but… There are pre-existing magics that fulfill these roles, most lost and some ancient.

Magicka 2 combination spells are more reasonable

I remember that Ren guy saying that an awakening happens only twice, also this is just lost and ancient magics obtained in a different way, cool idea tho
