Proposal

Spells should have an option to change variation in magic color with each spell

Details/background on your proposal

Vetex did say in the QnA that in the lore, higher level mages can change the color depending on the intent, and it is a fairly very, very easy small feature to add.

Reason to add/change

Theres no reason to not add this. It has zero effect on your magics stats or your combat capability, and is purely visual.

I wouldn’t say that without having an idea of how the code works behind the scenes.

Based on the QnA it does make sense, but it takes away from the uniqueness of magic variant choice. Choosing a lesser used magic variant is no longer interesting, since it would then be able to be changed at the drop of a hat.

quick question: what is interesting about choosing a lesser used magic variant?
I’d rather my magic just look good thanks lol.

Sometimes I see people use lesser used magic variants and I think that is cool. The reason that being able to change it per spell would detract from that is that it reduces it to the level of changing the amount of blasts: no more thinking “oh cool I don’t see that often”, when seeing that is just a few button presses away.

I don’t see how the value of that in any way matters in the face of increasing customization.

It would be wicked for a crystal mage to have a rainbow kit, I would probably only use it to differentiate my ultimate art from my regular attack but that would still be cool as hell in the middle of a fight

my emerald file could’ve had that ngl

yes now i can cast purple flames instead of orange ones

in overall, no, this idea is really weird despite the fact of how cool it would be to have more colors for magics, and it also makes overall magic variations (color) doubting and feel… useless?

FOR THE STATE OF THE YMCA!!! (complete sentence)

it’s lame for those without color variants but oh well, not our problem

im a fire and ash mage :-1::-1::-1::-1::-1:

Its for people who have variations with their magic… i have no idea how this makes them feel useless when it seems way more cool than being locked to a color.

you literally choose the magic variation yourself, it’s not spirit energy where you choose it and get locked with it till the end of your life

What does that have to do with anything they said?

The suggestion is to allow you to choose the variation each spell uses rather than just being locked down to the one.

give fire magic a blue variation

bootleg inferno magic

Nice to have.
