True, that was a fumble, but the problem isn’t that it wasn’t compensated initially, it’s that now that it’s even slightly following up on that promise, people are upset because they already threw it out like junk on their own behalf.
Yup, it’s not like somebody will quit their main account and create a new one, just because they want to keep a rare tier old boot with the cost of 75 galleons.
Ofc, there always are people who never re-created their character or was lucky enough to leave all of their boss drops on their alt account. But I am sure, that those people barely are 25-40% of the 4-gen playerbase.

The trophy analogy once again. When you get a medal in sports, do they tell you “your goal is to sell this painted plastic trinket for as much money as possible”? They don’t, because you’re meant to just have it.

Thats the thing, the original goal of this medal was, for most people at least, to use it to get a headstart in ao. Its not getting the medal and then being told that, its being told that and getting the medal for exactly that reason. I dont think many people really liked grinding bosses for the sake of it. Like i said before, the compensation was meant to be of equal or great value, obviously refering to gameplay and not emotional value. If it was meant to be emotional value compensation than just keeping the boss drops as untradeable vanity wouldve done just fine

Either way, it still is a cash headstart. When ao just released we were struggling to upgrade sunkens and get caravels and ketches, something which magius relics were literally made to help with. Also how is it a misconception when vetex and tech literally stated them to be of equal or great value, what else could they have meant?

I just dont understand how you would argue against what tech and vetex said, theyre quite literally the developers of ao. If they said they would wipe all acris then wouldnt you make preparations to handle such a situation? And if they then go back on their word, wouldnt you be mad you did such preparations? Its more an issue of trust being broken twice than anything else
