Premise

Mainlands like Ravenna and Sameria, places with lots of wilderness and room, would have custom mechanics. Some would be universal, and some would be specifically for one or two mainlands.

Universal Mechanics

  • Threats: Anyone who’s played WoM remembers these. That system was mildly flawed, so here’s how it’d work: Upon a building being destroyed, the town is considered under threat. A small group of the kingdom’s military would spawn, attacking the player. Every three minutes, the group would escalate in level and size, up to ten level 100s. Intensity of a Threat is measured by the property destruction and civillians killed. Only one town can be under threat at a time, but Intensity is tracked in other towns and they will overwrite the other town’s threat if it’s higher. Towns can’t be under threat from nature, but NPCs can attack towns sometimes. Terrain regeneration and dialog NPCs are disabled in the town until the threat is resolved. If all buildings are destroyed and all of the guard dead, the town will be considered “Ruined” until the Agora updates, Some Uncommon and Rare chests would spawn in the rubble (which would be pre-built and would replace the destroyed buildings), and the density of the other towns’ NPCs would increase. No other towns on the island would be able to be threatened until the Agora updates, when the town gains immunity for a day, the threatener is imprisoned if they set foot on the island, and repairmen from the Grand Navy and the island’s army begin rebuilding. (All merchants and NPCs return, the rebuilding state is visual.)

The urge to not put in an edit that says how Hubert will appear at maximum threat level and his powers involve being such a naughty gassy human that he kills you with his green poison :joy_cat:

Must resist…

had an idea similar to this

Sounds like the scrapped alignment system

Game’s optimized now

I never said I didn’t like it

I know, just saying that one of the reasons why it was scrapped was lag

this actually makes sense. Would be cool as hell, tired of the same navy grunts all the time. Could use a bit more refining though may I steal your suggestion

Lwk just move into the suggestion instead

I loved being a terrorist in WoM, now I can be a terrorist in AO aswell!

Seems kinda underwhelming, you are telling me the best Ravenna can do against a random criminal ruining their capital is a few level 100 Centurions?

Yeah, definitely needs a level 200 boss, or something like that.

feel free to edit that in

I believe the threatener shouldn’t just be immediately imprisoned if they even go through the town, cause that just causes quite a lot of problems. What if you’re fighting, happen to go into that town, then get straight up teleported to jail by some level 50 marines? That makes zero sense.

Maybe notoriety would increase rapidly in the town.
