Make Piracy Great Again (don’t change the title bud)

Yknow, ever since AO’s release I have yet to find any situations of someone attacking my ship so they can plunder my loot. It really only feels like half a pirate game, because anything PvP related gets shunned by 80% of the community, especially if it’s negatively affecting another player. Cargo is practically a 0 risk activity as your ship will never be attacked by a ship stronger than yours or a ship you can’t just outrun. NPCS dont have feelings, only players do. Players also conveniently have more than 3 sealed chests on their ships to take. Im ngl im just babbling but can we make the seas actually risky again like on release? Ok thanks. Yes this is bait.

You know, I think it’d be great if leaderboard position was directly tied to player progression.

Remember when Dark Sea dropped and people lost their shit because people were camping shipwrights waiting for players coming back from dark sea expeditions and pillaging their loot?(been on both ends myself) Yea, I don’t think this community can handle that kind of environment lmao

the people who attack you when your in the dark sea or coming back from it are the worst we don’t need anymore of that

hear me out, what if every player killed in PvP was permanently banned from the game with their stats transferred to whoever landed the finishing attack.

I think this could really improve the game.
Clearly this wouldn’t cause any issues at all.

Imagine going to cash in a check at the bank and just as you reach the doors someone with a bat hits you over the head and cashes in your check while you’re writhing in pain, that’s what it’s like

its shunned because chests and cargo dropped from ships have too little of a respawn time to reasonably take all of them meaning youre just wasting your and the other persons time, unless they have like 5 chests in which case its still a waste of your time because you can easily sink npc ships faster

also ship sinking is actually punishing unlike other forms of PVP so I think that’s why people hate it so much

if we’re talking about how to make piracy more worth it (please don’t do this)

make deckhands and crew automatically retrieve some of the items from sunken ships based on deckhand level and stuff it straight into the cargo hold

this would be actually useful for saving time when it comes to npc ships, but would make hit and runs more rewarding for the pvp players which might be a bad thing
