This will be a quick one, wont worry with formating.
So there’s this game, awful, lost itself to monetization, but was pretty fun back then… Trove
Trove has, in my opinion, the best marketplace of any mmo i’ve played. It has a simple UI, easy to get and find what you want, as well as some clever mechanics in place.
Stuff i think the marketplace here should take:
1- Slots. Have a limit to the amount of posts you can make to the marketplace… This is purely to stop people from spamming posts like “1 sea shell” and overloading the market.
2- Currencies. Cool, you can sell items for galleons. But allow us to also sell items for certain items.
For example, along with galleons, we should be able to sell items for atlantean essence and acrimony.
Reason for this being that some items are worth an impractical amount of galleons, so haveing an item as a currency allows you to make high end transactions without being flooded with galleons (and honestly, many would end up just buying those items anyways to store galleons now that banks are gone).
3- Claim. One thing that is necessary, if not already in place, is to have a sort of transaction limbo. For example, i should be able to buy and item from someone that’s not online. On the same vein, they should be able to decide when to cash in the galleons from the transaction.
The way to do this is to leave the slot locked on that transaction, and add a single option “claim” that would remove the completed transaction from the slot and grant you the galleons you earned from that.
I think that’s all. This might sound confusing so leave questions if something is poorly explained
Also, keep the UI clean!!!
