This will be a quick one, wont worry with formating.

So there’s this game, awful, lost itself to monetization, but was pretty fun back then… Trove

Trove has, in my opinion, the best marketplace of any mmo i’ve played. It has a simple UI, easy to get and find what you want, as well as some clever mechanics in place.

Stuff i think the marketplace here should take:

1- Slots. Have a limit to the amount of posts you can make to the marketplace… This is purely to stop people from spamming posts like “1 sea shell” and overloading the market.

2- Currencies. Cool, you can sell items for galleons. But allow us to also sell items for certain items.
For example, along with galleons, we should be able to sell items for atlantean essence and acrimony.
Reason for this being that some items are worth an impractical amount of galleons, so haveing an item as a currency allows you to make high end transactions without being flooded with galleons (and honestly, many would end up just buying those items anyways to store galleons now that banks are gone).

3- Claim. One thing that is necessary, if not already in place, is to have a sort of transaction limbo. For example, i should be able to buy and item from someone that’s not online. On the same vein, they should be able to decide when to cash in the galleons from the transaction.
The way to do this is to leave the slot locked on that transaction, and add a single option “claim” that would remove the completed transaction from the slot and grant you the galleons you earned from that.

I think that’s all. This might sound confusing so leave questions if something is poorly explained

Also, keep the UI clean!!!

The claim thing sounds unnecessary. Galleons should probably show up in your message inbox already in the inventory.

Fair, but would it be bad to cash out your galleons on demand instead of receiving an them on log in? It certaily certainly would make bugs less likely to occur, seing that you would be receiving them on your terms…

Oh, i didn’t have a definitive main, but the class i invested the most was definitely shadow hunter.

I played a ton of boomeranger before that, specifically bowmeranger. So when they released class gems i already had a bow ready to be shot 200 times a sec lol

Troves marketplace is very amazing! There is no good way to find what your looking for, so this works perfectly

Dracolyte/Tomb Raiser/Revenant/Lunar Lancer/Gunslinger/Shadow Hunter is what I played the most, but Dracolyte definitely was my favourite (if only it had good dps D:)

I normally play candy barb, but I wanted to get Solarion. Unfortunately, it is very tough to get due to the insane grind

Really hope vetex also includes a search bar this time around

marketplace idea : delete the galleon server

Ah my man, I was a Candy Barbarian back then. Way fun stuff before they cut off their life-support, o7.

Fair, not only that but that system were used similar to other games as well to prevent item dupes and spamming junk into the marketplace system.

Sounds like the seller can toggle this on/off with the items they want, and I presume subsidary ones are pre-selected in-game (Acrimony, leg scale, essentia, and perhaps jewels etc.). While galleons do have value they really fall short before high-end reagents and possibly other items that can improve builds and pots.

good additions/ideas, and selling items for items could be very useful :+1:

To add on the to alternate currency idea, you could also allow players to submit bids of multiple currencies at once, say bidding a few acrimonies and some other items all for one specific item.
Going further, you could even allow players to submit one bid request of multiple different offers, and the seller could pick which offer they like the most (assuming they are online). Could help prevent the back-and-forth of consecutive offers in other games with trading economies

@Dudeman club ‘em

definitely would want this. though for simplicity sake, vetex has probably set the max amount of market postings to 1.

eh, not a big fan of this. im thinking this would kill player to player trading. and its not like galleons are useless now that empire update brought building into the mix with expensive buildings.

why not merge this into the slots section. how about you cannot make another posting on the same slot you used to make a previous post until you either remove the post due to expiry, or claim the galleons that someone purchased it with.

good suggestion. that is all
