the Stance concept is interesting and weapons definitely need something to differentiate their m1s from fighting styles, but Flow is doing way too much. stopping all stamina and energy consumption entirely while also negating stamina damage is an insane amount of payoff for what is essentially just landing m1s after skills. at 5 stacks you’re basically unkillable in a sustained fight. no energy drain means infinite blocking, no stamina consumption means infinite dodging, and the parrying a mythical dragon bit you mentioned yourself is a red flag for how broken the ceiling gets.
the blocking power scaling per stack is actually the best part of the proposal and could stand on its own as a meaningful weapon identity without needing Flow attached to it at all. weapons being better at sustained blocking and defensive play while fighting styles are better at raw damage and poise is a natural identity split that doesn’t require a god mode mechanic to justify.
But maybe this could be in the future be part of some sort of exclusive warrior awakening for the 2nd awakening instead. I do understand the criticism. I was also thinking having 15 skills instead of 24 with 2nd awakening seems a bit lack-luster, which is why I even suggested in the first place.
Infinite parrying and infinite blocking is totally different. Though I do see how broken it is.
I did write that the buff lasts for like 20 seconds (should be less but I don’t really want to make it too niche), which would not make it infinite at all.
At best you’re going to have about 75% damage reduction from blocking and 105% parry damage reduction, which I do see how it can be a bit overpowered, though I can realistically only see it being hardly used for PvP, at least mid-fight. For PvE, I see it being used for preparation before a hard fight, and whenever you aren’t getting hit due to your distance or whatever, you can keep it up longer.
I feel like weapons will get more by that point, like maybe when you reforge a weapon into an artisan weapon, it gets 8 skills rather than 5 thus evening it out, or higher tiered weapons get more skills in general idk
Yeah, that is true, but why bother with them, when the total amount of skills you have equipped + their short cooldowns leave no room to sneak an m1 in that you need to get in breathing distance of an airstalling enemy to land, unless you’re swinging around Argos’s halberd.
“If you use a skill and m1”. This does imply you have to land both on a target, right? If yes, then landing that follow-up m1 is gonna be very difficult.
But you have five of them, and there are enough Good quality weapons rn, so you don’t have to use the 3-slot Average ones, unless you’re a Savant, in which case you aren’t really complaining about lack of slots. Three weapons with 5 skills each is 15, just 1 less than 16 spells or techniques Magic and Strength get. Spirit still suffers from variety issue, though.
So you really do NOT need to hit somebody to earn Stance stacks, huh? That sounds kinda broken.
Block? Wasn’t it an m1?
Where did the damage immunity when parrying come from? This suggestion gets too confusing…
