Isn’t the merchant faction a no-brainer to be added as a joinable one?
I mean, the ships and NPC are already implemented.
No need for a base, just put an npc like the assassin in every city market.
Instead of increased reknown, increase galleons from selling to NPCs.
Ranks could be decided by total galleons.
They make sense lore-wise as the ones that keep a check on the seas economic balance.
Am I missing something?
Why was it not contemplated as a joinable faction?
the agora is planned to be joinable and the concept is pretty similar to a merchant faction
The merchant faction isn’t technically a faction, it’s more so an icon to differentiate itself from other ships like the marketplace npc shops. Another example of this is the pirate ship npcs, they’re not a faction unless they have the corsair pirate factions.
Another thing that supports this is that they don’t really have any faction name at all. Like how the Agora newspaper is owned by the journalist faction called “Juraserva”.
If we can have a joinable merchant faction we get to have a joinable pirate faction
or let the npcs that are already there be merchants
also give us traveling merchants like in minecraft
just make a pirate clan works the same
I think it’d be pretty cool, I’m not sure if vetex has any plans for it or thinks it’s necessary though
I think it would be fun to become a merchant, but there’s not any specific merchant faction mentioned in-game, just the merchant ships which are co-owned by whoever sails them.
make a merchant clan
the only thing theyre good for is their leads
and the invis potion once it turns nighttime
(except if youre mogswamp on your 12903765204963459072364 year old superflat world)
well in ao they should be better
atleast your suggestion perms didnt get revoked because you were suggesting scurvy
at least*
it’s not a faction, it’s a ship type. Merchants compete, a lot
