Once you defeat a story boss, [mirage] displays next to their name when you fight them again (for their drops etc) since they’re not actually there in lore

Its was a joke. And I still think we are, cuz we wake up on the island without memory in the place called War seas. Everything related to war breaks psyche + waking up without memory is probably not okay.
