Moonlight synergy

Hello guys
I’ve been playing AO since March last year and my main is Moonlight Mage (I chose the magic without thinking). After the Awakening I chose Wind Magic but replaced it with Metal later for more damaging hard magic. But it definitely has no synergy with Light and can’t work together. So what magic should I change into?
My thoughts:

  • Crystal: Seemingly the only Magic that synergizes with light.
  • Shadow: EQUINOX but i already have shadow file
  • Some DOT or stun magic, I’ve never used those before

You can recommend other magics.

Edit: I also uses color Green for this file.

If you want a dot magic you can go purple acid for the color, but magma would be better to act as your “heavy” magic.

While it may sound weird, you can also go for metal for a variety of reasons:

-it does massive damage, and can act as a good dps buff for your mage

-it has a busted resistance aura, letting you gain upwards of 800 hp.

-it is extremely good close ranged, so you can zone with light and then brick the opponent with metal when they get close.

light synergizes with crystal?

i use light magma gg

high damage with dot +good aoe +res aura +platforms in water

I’m pretty sure shadow still makes light do less damage or vice versa idk

your own magics don’t have negative synergies

i think you should just go with what magic you think is cool

normally it would be one of the rare moments where poison’s uselessly long dot is good but some light spells get canceled by poison clouds

my main is light crystal and its alr, but i hardly ever use crystal so go glass for the armor cuz light deals low dmg

The answer to this can go two ways, if you want the best outcomes. But there is a lot of options to consider.


Crystal:

  • 0.975 Base
  • 1.2675 on Crystalized
  • 0.75 Speed

Metal:

  • 1.05 Base
  • 1.3125 on Bleed
  • 0.55 Speed

Magma:

  • 0.9 Base
  • 1.35 on Melt.
  • 0.7 Speed

Shadow:

  • 0.95 Base
  • 1.2 Speed

Acid:

  • 0.875
  • 1.3125 on Corroded
  • 1.05 Speed

If dmg is your only concern, and not whether Light can get more dmg.

  • Then choose Acid
    • Has DoT, has the same total dmg output as Metal, with the only caveat being that it has less size in exchange for speed.

If you want to make it where Light can do more dmg, while also having your second magic stand on it’s feet.

  • Then choose Crystal.
    • Doesn’t have DoT, has less total dmg output as Metal or Acid, has slightly less size than Metal.
    • But makes up for it by having higher speed than Metal, and giving Light a boost:
    • 0.85 Base → +5% from Max Stacks (0.8925) → +10% from Crystalized (0.9775)

Outside of this though, if you aren’t stingy about stats. Then it’s really whatever magic you vibe with at the end of the day.

The best DOT in the game I believe is a combo of Poison and Fire, as you can make Poison clouds and light them on fire, but else I would use magma
