Forgot to mention this earlier, but according to JTN in the patreon chat Avery Walker is still alive. The journal never confirmed his death just that he was in a worse state than Zaix, so I guess someone must have saved him when they retreated. Seeing him is something to look forward to as well in Chimera I guess. Unless you really hate Avery Walker.
This is kinda headcanon, but I like to think that Avery Walker was around during the coalition against Nero. There he lost a fight to Nero and somehow got away got saved. Then later on as you know he basically lost to Ravenna again at the battle of Cassia Town, all his efforts to beat Veridia and Zaix being a waste as Thorn failed to gain anything. Due to both these events he harbors massive amounts of resentment towards Ravenna, but Thorne has yet to make a move against Ravenna again so he’s been forced to sit and stew over it for over a decade now. I think if just half of that was true with it just starting at Cassia Town that’d make for a pretty neat character bit for him.
