I hadn’t realized that people were a lot more optimistic about the release date of Full Release than me. I thought putting June was being a bit optimistic. Then again if Vetex said that it would take at least 3 months and empires released at the end of September than I guess an April release is possible. Although I think it’ll be a bit longer with time spent on bug fixes and time spent on the marketplace and all the content involved with the Full Release it’s still likely it’s gonna take one or two months more after April.
Also was kinda surprised a lot of people are also excited for Chimera more than any sea. I had expected the one people were most excited for to be Vimir cause of lost magics and Jotunheim. Obviously I turned out to be right in the end cause Vimir has the most votes as of now, but back when I first voted Chimera was on top. Kinda makes sense though, it’s home to 2 of the most interesting kingdoms with a pretty interesting conflict going on.
I play on a laptop, so I’ve never had high expectations for performance either way and I’m able to play just fine 90% of the time. I do still think it should have a fair bit of attention put towards it, but since I don’t have too many issues with it and both occlusion culling and something in the patreon sneaks are on the horizon I think it’ll be fine as just medium priority.
Home to the Grand Navy, too. It’s got the most kingdoms of any sea we’ve heard of, which is why I voted for it (plus it has a cool name )
I personally don’t factor in level cap stuff like lost magics into the decision, I just think about the islands, theme, and story. Vimir would’ve been my second pick because of Jotunheim.
Is it the home of the Grand Navy? I forgot wherever it was stated GN HQ where the GN HQ would be.
It does have a very cool name. Wonder if Thorne or Ryujin took the other out, would the sea have to be renamed?
That’s fair it’s the same reason I voted for Chimera. Though honestly with how much we just don’t know about the Aegean sea sheer curiosity has it tied for second with Vimir for me. Jotunheim plays a large roll there for me same as you, but I definitely am excited enough for lost magics for that to play a part as well.
Crossing my fingers really hard it’s a lot more packed with stuff for me to explore than Sameria was. I know that Sameria’s getting more content in quests and the tavern but in terms of structures or cool landmasses it’s kinda lacking. The stuff that’s there is cool, but it mostly being a massive empty desert was kinda disappointing. Hoping Jotunheim has a bit more going on than just the civilized areas. I am 100% I can count on there probably being some crazy bear boss in there. Or maybe a monster from greek myth that’s regarded by a nordic name by the people in Jotunheim. That’d be kinda cool.
I’m pretty sure that’s what Vetex said when people were theorizing that it would be in the Marauding Sea.
Widowed Sea
Same, honestly. The sea with Azura has just GOTTA be full of some awesome stuff. I think it’s actually received the least hype of every sea though, which is kinda crazy.
Nimbus has “some of the best stuff Tech and Vet have written,” plus a sky kingdom which is super unique.
Vimir has the biggest kingdom island, Keraxe, Wotan, and lost magics.
Chimera has three kingdoms, Thorne is super exciting since it’s been hinted at since WoM lore, the Grand Navy DEFINITELY has some shady stuff going on that we’re gonna delve into, and Ryujin is tied to Thorne.
The Marauding Sea is hyped by default since it’s the final one and home of the Corsair Country which has been getting built up for a long time.
But Aegean? It’s got nothing. Yet I feel like this might be a case where the least hyped thing ends up blowing the rest out the water.
Also considering their culture, as far as we’re aware, originates from a place farther than any other kingdom’s cultural origin, I think there’s a strong possibility it’s where we’ll learn that thing about the dark sea that allowed groups to escape to sea clusters. Also I don’t think too many people, aside from maybe some nerds with a bias, will deny that samurais are pretty cool.
The mystery and almost total lack of information is kinda what excites me about it.
Yeah I had honestly expected most of the votes to go June or July+. Though I do wanna say I’m not saying that it’s gonna take til June cause I wanna complain or am upset by the long wait times between updates. It’s just what I feel is most likely, I got no problems with waiting even though I’m really excited for the update and wanna play it as soon as possible.
