Because it’s clear vetex favors us apparently and hybrid classes really shouldn’t exist yet
I want mages to feel like just straight up bullet hell bosses. Here’s how.
A lot of these are probably lost spells because ultra powerful
These could also be considered combination spells because some of them pretty much just combine two or more spells together I dunno
Spell - Eruption
“Create high concentrations of magic energy underground, which burst forth and leave powerful homing blasts.”
So, pillar explosions. What if there was a spell that made those, but slower, and those pillars created a few homing blasts that track your enemy for a few seconds?
[-----]
Spell - Downpour
“Utilize an unfinished magic circle to chaotically scatter your magic in the air, which then proceeds to blast down at high speeds.”
Barrage, but it shoots directly upwards and in random directions, these blasts then stop, creating a bunch of line indicators at where they’ll shoot, before launching themselves as a hitscan beam.
[-----]
Spell - Earthshatter
“Expel magic energy from below your feet with extreme amounts of force, causing brief tremors of your magic energy.”
Imagine leap, but it creates a spiraling pattern of small pillar explosions with it.
Or, well, greatleap in this case
[-----]
Spell - Airburst
“Launch forth a giant blast, that then splits itself into several smaller, homing blasts.”
I hate that the premise is true but imo those are some pretty good ideas. I especially like earthshatter and eruption. Considering how overtune these are though, I feel like they’d need something like major endlag. Also homing blasts sounded scary for a second, but then I remembered hunter’s delta’s supposed to shoot homing arrows, and well… it definitely gives it its best shot
Berserkers must feel really terrible watching people give so many Mage Spell suggestion lists.
Oh wait, I forgot, the only Berserkers that exist are PvPers, and those can’t read.
You said it yourself: The Great Jump ability. The one that strength classes have.
Personally, I feel like mages already have a lot more moves than some other classes, and we should let those other classes have some exclusives. Mage doesn’t have to have a clone of every other ability in the game.
(This IS simply my opinion. I’m good with constructive criticism, obviously, but don’t feel the need to fry me for having an opinion)
Hybrid classes have literally fucking nothing going for them to the point arcanium weapons were a flop, warconj got shot in an alleyway, anything spirit related is either hitting someone with a pillow or moving like king von
Hybrid classes can’t be balanced or scripted well currently because the game isn’t even remotely finished yet
Downpour and Earthshatter are kind of just Spirit Rain and Greatjump. Vetex doesn’t like when mage has something that’s a direct copy of another thing without 4 quintillion damage and the absolute maximum amount of visual clutter so you should specify these two things
I know that sounds like a bad idea but literally every other class gets a lunge grab and in the grand scheme of things mage still won’t be as horizontally mobile as the other stat builds, this is just to help keep parity
Hello! I’m a mage and I’ve fought people who are mages
Yeah no the class could use a backdash or something it’s ridiculous how easy it is to chase them. The only mage I’ve ever struggled against was some weird lightning dude but I’m like 99% sure they were parrybotting so that doesn’t defeat my point
I’m just gonna end the argument, mage is a more than capable class if you know how to use it, they definitely don’t need 2 more versions of barrage, and if your playing mage well enough, you’ll likely never get close enough to use “lunge” anyway, mage has good movement, and can get away, if you unable to, then maybe the person you’re fighting is just good at closing distance, if you want the ability to hold your own up close but still wanna use mage, then you should’ve used conjurer or warlock, mage has plenty of good moves, you just need to get the scrolls for them
