As it stands, Munera Garden is not an appealing place to duel at all, really. Mount Orthys is without debate the better arena, but is marred by the time it takes to get there, leading to most battles still occuring at Munera Garden.
I have some QoL changes and suggestions to make Munera a better island for duels.
– Disable Notoriety spawns when on the island entirely. Having to deal with three Navy Majors every single time that you die at Munera is mind-bogglingly irritating. Having to pay thousands of Galleons to be unaffected by this is also not fun. This is one of the largest reasons that player duels at Orthys are becoming more common, as Notoriety and GN spawns are a non-issue. Make it so that upon respawning at Munera Island, the ‘fleet inbound’ message will not appear, and GN ships will not spawn near your location. This should also help with lag quite a bit.
– Increase the strength of the arena’s terrain. Yes, I understand any suggestions about destruction will probably be instantly shot down by Vetex, but hear me out. The terrain at Munera is so comically weak as it stands. Whether it’s a magic with horrendous destruction like Poison, or someone with pitifully low-tier Weapons using a fairly weak ability, the tiles of Munera’s arena simply crumble from pretty much any attacks at all. Why? Even the Coliseum in WoM wasn’t this bad. At least at Orthys you can move the fight away from broken terrain; at Munera, you are forced to around it. Make the ground take more force / destruction to be broken.
– Allow Grand Navy and Assassin’s Syndicate members to spar. As it stands, the Grand Navy will auto-arrest anyone they are able to fight and cannot fight any high reps, whilst Assassin’s Syndicate members are similar as they auto-arrest any low reps and drain the bounty of high reps. If you’re in a party with or as a member of the Grand Navy or the Assassin’s Syndicate, the auto-arrest / Assassination / Bounty system should be disabled on members of your party, if at all possible.
This is all I have for now. Not sure how simple these changes would be to code or implement, but I believe they should be considered and implemented at future arenas as well. If you have anything to add, comment on, or criticize, feel free to discuss below.
