My Crazy first Dark Sea Expedition on this New Save

So, I recently created a new warlord save for Bounty Hunting and PvP (for improving my PvP skills).

0
On this save, I acquired the lion’s halberd and lance, and also ended up being lucky enough to get my first Evander drop as the Colossal Great sword at just the third try (mentioned in a separate topic).
I saved up enough galleons through cargo to buy a brig and transferred some ship materials from my main save to go on the very first Dark Sea Expedition on this save.

The main goal was to finish the quest “Enizor’s Ambition”, in which you have to collect some 15 black shards.
Pretty easy right? That’s what I thought, too.

I went through 2 islands and came out with just 8 shards. I also obtained 1 Dark Sealed Chest. I completed the quest pretty easily on my first save. This started taking longer time than I had previously expected.

That’s when I bumped into an Arcane Oddity on the third island cluster.

Yes, a floating Giant White Eyes. Then, I obviously proceeded to do what everyone else might do. I killed it. I gained nothing. And for some reason, it did not attack me even once.

RIP Giant White Eyes

After that I looked at my brig’s durability and found that it was at 4k. I started heading back to the bronze sea. I was so close, having obtained 12 black shards already and I just had to gain three more shards.

That’s when I bumped into a Ring type Volcano Island. I roamed around for a while and obtained around 2 shards. Later, I came across 2 Dark Sealed Chests on a Crossroad Structure and another two lying really close on one of those tall structures (where chests are arranged in a ring) (idk what they are called). I carried the first set of chests off to my brig. At that moment, I noticed that my brig’s durability had reduced to a very low 2k hp. I had no choice but to use my repair hammer and some galleons to repair it, since I didn’t bring any cargo with me. I realized that I was running low on cash. I had struck a dead end. Shaking it off, I went on to acquire the other two chests. When I was returning, I noticed a black shard and picked it up. Thus, the quest ended and I received 500 galleons as a reward. I used them to repair the brig. It was now at 6.5k hp.

I started heading back to the Bronze Sea.
Then, the Giant White Eyes returned for revenge.

I shook it off somehow and then bumped into an abandoned ship on the way, which surprisingly had a Dark Sealed Chest on it.

I loaded it onto my brig and continued my return voyage.

And finally, at the end, Bounty Hunter Edward Drake succeeded in surviving his first Dark Sea Expedition.

The End? Nope
This happened next:

I hurriedly sold off the Dark Sealed Chests myself, without using any luck potions.
I succeeded in retaining everything without any loss.

I also noticed that, though my region was Asia, I was playing on a US Server with a high ping:

And to my surprise, this is the loot, which I obtained from just those 6 Dark Sealed Chests:

THE END
See you next time on “The True Arcane Odyssey which was made along the way”

PS: Edward Drake really giving off that MC Aura

It seems like you’re quite fond of emphasizing your words with bold letters

This increased chances of getting scrolls are honestly a bit too much, i literally got 3 brisks, an explosive and an enhanced from like 12 sealeds… which is way too broken

i call dibs on the powerful

I’m glad I looked at this because I got reminded of one of the scariest moments I had playing this game. It was in the dark sea and there was a white eyes nearby when I was on an island. I was firing blasts at it just for the sake of it while waiting for a friend to reach my location when white eyes flew directly at me in a straight line. It was very sudden and very unexpected

Also your story about just barely having the money to repair your ship reminded me of my first time going to the dark sea with a friend, where both of us lost the ability to repair (the friend had no money and I lost my hand to a lightning strike) We started with 2 ships, with 18k health and 23k health. We left with 1 ship that had 2k health.
It’s interesting to see that some people do still have dark sea trips where their ship health gets very low and it’s a race to escape, since I never drop below about 32k health in the dark sea anymore.

no its no longer garbage (hooray)
maybe scroll prices will drop to an acceptable degree

Probably not while people still follow the value list

And then, my father told me that he was going to go get some milk from the local supermarket, and I haven’t seen him since for the past 6 months.
