This does not fall under general rule 10 because it is an irrational ban nor am I insulting said mod in any way.
(If you don’t care, just go to another post; literally just posting on forums to not have to use an alt in vetcord; @Mortomi not making alts or planning to engage in vetcord in any way)
Post is just mentioning stuff that people are saying post-ban.
I first got muted when I spoiled Chainsaw Man(I do not have a history of mutes/bans like some people say) and then banned which basically everyone knows.
The mute was reasonable enough even though there was no rule in place.
ShadeOfAzure would then ban me and then add a rule after banning me justifying the ban reason which did not exist previously. This “Rule 23” was an old and removed rule that was not present at all when I got muted. Whether it should be a rule or not is not what I’m talking about regardless. I could’ve appealed but I’m not very interested in a discord where a mod can just ban someone and then add a rule after. The spoiler was me saying a certain character in Chainsaw Man died after Shade mentioned said character with a clear comedic timing, if you want the exact spoiler, you can just ask in the discord.
I am simply making this post to bring awareness to what I believe to be a bad moderation team and hopefully change how rules are enforced.
I repeat that this is not an appeal, the Level acc is already being deleted for unrelated reasons since it’s been a browser alt account for a year now. On the off chance I decide to join vetcord again, I’ll appeal then but I don’t see myself doing so and this won’t affect forums acc.

Edit: The 2 previous infractions I had were !rank in general and kys(keep yourself safe) which are fair mutes, I just anticipate someone asking what they were as a question
That should honestly be a 30 minute mute reminder instead of an entire ban imo
You don’t need to ban somebody for spoiling, you can just remind them not to do it again and mute them for a while so that its a serious thing. But banning someone straight on the spot with no warning is honestly unfair even when that was a before thing.
Or like, at least tell the user to use the discord feature “spoilers” next time
While I do think a punishment was warranted I don’t think you deserve a ban for this. No prior history, the rule (by your account) wasn’t present at the time.
I do not know the entire nature of how Vetcord operates but I do know they have a history of putting up and later taking down rules before putting them up again. My only example of this is Rule 25 which while a singular incident is still an incident and an obvious precedence for something like this. Rule 23 could have been one of those rules taken down only to be put back up. My only theory for this is the existence of rules 23 and 25 but not 21, 22, or 24. While I do think rules need to be changed with time to reflect the current environment I do not think they should be hidden and only brought up later as some sort of surprise. If what you said is true and that Rule 23 wasn’t up at the time and was only up after you made the post and got banned then I think, in simple terms, that’s a little fucked up.
If there are rules 21, 22, and 24 I wonder what they may be because at any time they can be reinstated as soon as someone unknowingly breaks one. Who knows if any of them can even result in a ban. Just not a proper way to run a server imo at least as far as that goes, no clue how they operate but I don’t think this is a way to handle ones rules.

Salutations. Seeing as I’ve been mentioned here, I figured I should add a statement. Whilst it never was listed in rulings. SPOILERS were always punished and muted for harshly with long mutes and bans. Most people may not remmeber but it was an unspoken and enforced rule with the Marvel movies. It was unspoken because it’s quite litterally common sense not to be a jerk and ruin something for others with spoilers.
see now this is the issue here, sure it’s bad in general to spoil but if it was never even a rule to begin with until recently some people genuinely might not know and that’s honestly expected.
