My interpretation on the Lore Accurate Silas Build (The character we play)

For anyone who doesn’t know, Silas is the name of the in-game character that we play. And if you don’t know. There have been some statements that have come directly on Vetex about the lore-accurate capabilities of this character.

I will be creating a list of things we know about the character to explain why I made the choices that I made. The following list I will provide will show proof for most of the things I say, making the amount of images I provide moving forward take up a lot of your screen:

Confirmed:

The character’s canon name is Silas

The character’s canon build is a Savant

The character is biologically related to someone from the Greek pantheon

r/ArcaneOdyssey - My interpretation on the Lore Accurate Silas Build (The character we play)|750xauto

A biological offspring can use spirit energy without the use of a spirit weapon

And finally, Tech confirms that the canon magic is lightning; however, this can be subject to change since Vetex himself, during the full release stream where Tech said this, claimed he was “unsure” about the canonical magic. So, for the sake of the build, we will take Tech at his word (Arcane Odyssey Qna. 1:14:20)

Now we will move on to the unconfirmed evidence that I speculate to be true:

Based on the description of the Eagle Patrimony, it is fair to assume that Silas is biologically related to Zeus, which makes it more likely that his canon magic would be lightning. Also, based on this, I would infer that Silas, lore-wise, would be inclined to be a character who’s invested in the spirit stat, one to be able to use spirit imbue. And two, to be able to use this relic to a somewhat controlled level. I also believe this to be true because Vetex explains in the QnA stream that Silas uses “everything” when it comes to determining their stat spread. (Arcane Odyssey Qna. 1:14:20)

Finally, this statement from Jarl Ivar made me believe that, canonically, Silas does not have a really high magic investment. This is because I find it hard to believe that a person with 350 points invested in magic lacks an understanding of magic, especially since if you play a full mage investor, you would’ve beaten him using magic, which technically makes you somewhat of a superior mage. This is probably my weakest line of evidence to support character choice builds, but I had to speculate at some point.

In terms of aesthetics, this is a Greek artwork used to depict Zeus, in which Zeus is depicted as having black hair and a black beard, so I used those to determine what my character looks like

Since we do not know what the canonical last name for Silas is, I assumed it was similar to Silas Ravencrest, who I also assumed was the inspiration behind the name Silas in the first place. Therefore, I picked Silas Raven as the name of my character

Here’s a list of things I did that have no speculative evidence to support them, and I just did it for ease of gameplay:

- I used dagger and spear for their throws to make playing the game easier

- I used a shield for the same reason

- I used cannonfist for the fighting style, as its probably the best method for defeating bosses that deal a lot of damage, like Jarl Ivar and Allanon. Poise break is a nice extra touch (I couldn’t find any evidence on what the canon FS is)

All in all, I’m happy with how the build came along. Let me know what you guys think; I’d love to see what other people’s spins are on this. It was a lot of fun to make

silas this, silas that
meanwhile, John Cane the fire mage has been with us since aa

(nice character btw, just the pants are really ugly)

I needed regen :sob:

lowk, cant say much. the lore facts are on point, and the build is a 4 way lightning savant. gotta be Silas

We have this thing called vanity you know

Silas is meant to look young he wouldnt have all that beard

I mean hes 18, greeks grow facial hair before that age. But yeah, it could possibly be shorter or cleanly shaven

Where did you get that?

i’m greek. Most ethnic greeks at my school including myself had facial hair at like 14 and could grow partial beards by like 17-18
