“What a great harvest today.
They are even bigger then I expected.
I can’t wait to make a nice lemonade out of these beauties.”
Rejoicing, I continued to pick up and put in the bag the giant lemons that I had been impatient to put my hands on, once I heard of them while passing by Sameria.
"I have to say that I find quite baffling how much enthusiasm you direct to those enlarged fruits even with such a spectacular view in front of you.
Especially since on the boat you told us that it’s your first time here.
Does the look of IT not make your blood boil?"
“More than boil, it would make my blood freeze if this thing still had blood itself.”
“Surely you jest. It’s the dream of every warrior to clash against such a mighty foe and slay him with all your strength.”
"I fear that my methods are far from the honourable clash that you desire.
To clashing and slaying a foe head on, I prefer to take distance and pierce them from afar, if possible from their blind spot."
"Worry not my friend, I’m not so ignorant as to judge a warrior from the way and tools that he uses to slay his foes.
But does that blade at your side not call to you to unsheath her and test your skill, to at least have a taste of how confronting something like this would be like?"
“I’m actually more of a marksman than a swordsman and honestly, if I had to confront such a beast, I would at least like to be paid handsomely by my client.”
Saying this, I continued to move my head from side to side, trying to take in the stupidly big body of this giant dragon, or at least what remained of it.
Yes, a dragon, its skeleton spanning the entire island, as if sleeping atop it.
On the highest peak, near the skull, me and my two temporary travel companions were speaking while I was busy collecting lemons, my reason for coming to this island.
Their goal, however, was different.
The first, the man that I was talking to, was dressed in a red robe, with a pair of long single edged blades at his sides.
As I had discovered talking to him during the travel, his temper was quite fiery and the air around him seemed to be getting hotter as time passed.
The other, a woman wearing clothes that seemed to suggest that she was an attendant of the man, rarely spoke and mostly waited by his side if not busy.
"I heard stories in my homeland, of how beasts like this emerged from the dark fog, raiding and burning everything in their way, until slayed by the blades of mighty warriors, but they never mentioned that they were this imposing.
Still, how could I call myself a warrior if I let myself be intimidated by an opponent that cannot even strike back."
Saying this, the man unsheathed his swords.
If before the air around him was hot, now it was literally burning.
A wave of heat unleashed from the man, wrapping itself around his blades.
Twisting on himself, he gathered all his strength and energy, before slashing both blades at the neck of the skeleton, trying to behead it.
Even after taking distance, the aftereffect of the impact reached me and the woman, causing us to brace ourselves to not fall off the cliff.
After the dust settled, the result that appeared was that, even after that tremendous shock, the bone of the dragon was intact, its incredible magic energy density protecting it from any harm.
"Hmm, it seems I’m still far too inexperienced.
To think that I couldn’t even scratch it.
I have a long way to go."
“No no no, you normally wouldn’t call something of that scale being inexperienced, you know?
Just how high are you even aiming?
I almost fell off the cliff.”
“Ahahah, sorry about that.
But to think it would be this sturdy.”
“I don’t get your way of thinking at all.
Is there even the need to try to behead it?
Look, it’s dead and yet it’s still whole, from head to toe.
Doesn’t that mean that even whoever killed it wasn’t able to damage its bones?”
“The dragons in the stories that I heard were beheaded, though.”
“Well good luck with that.
All I know is that the head would certainly not be my first target.”
“Oh, what would you focus on then?”
“Probably its wings first, seems easier and can’t really relax if such a thing continued to circle over me.
Moreover if I managed to make it fall in the water, other things could try to join in the fun, maybe distracting it long enough to make a run for it.”
“I see, fighting fire with fire.
Maybe one of those red ones, but would they even try with a beast of this size?”
“Probably not the normal-sized ones, but I heard stories of some that could give it a fair fight.”
“Interesting.
Tell me about them on the way back.
I could go for a nice fishing trip sometime.
Still this failure leaves me with a bit of a sour taste.”
“Here … cake …”
Saying so, his companion offered him a plate with a small cake on top.
A loud laugh resonated on the island.
Summary
Hello everyone
Today I had the pleasant opportunity to make new friends in-game and inspired, I decided to write a story on their characters.
I hope to see them again soon.
