I realized that this whole tirade I went on in somebody else’s thread was probably long enough to be a post of its own, so I decided I would make a thread for it here.

- I’ve spent a lot of time over the years playing PVP focused MMORPG games, both on Roblox and off of it. These are games where you can randomly walk up to somebody in a full loot PVP zone, stab them in the back, and then steal everything that they were carrying, potentially setting them back by days, weeks, or even months worth of progress. I did that to people fairly regularly in those games. In Arcane Adventures, I was a shameless A.G lieutenant who spent a lot of time ganking other players and generally just being cruel to others.
That being said, here are my thoughts on the changes proposed by Vetex.

Massive fucking W.
These changes are objectively positive for the future of the game. -
Having forced PVP in every single part of the game world is so hilariously short sighted that almost none of the PVP focused MMORPG games even do it.

Even the ones that do, such as Eve Online, have systems put in place to heavily deter players from randomly attacking innocent players close to hub areas. A good example of this is Eve Online’s CONCORD faction, an NPC police force which sends a battleship to instakill anyone who attacks innocent players.
So yeah, having PVP be an opt-in feature that you have to willingly get involved with only makes sense.
Casual players and non-combatants shouldn’t have to stress constantly about getting jumped by a squad of pvp players, they never signed up for that and are just trying to enjoy the game.
